The responsibilities of a CNC press brake operator include: * **Reading drawings and programs**: Interpreting engineering drawings (CAD) and work orders to understand bending specifications, angles, and dimensions. * **CNC programming**: Entering or loading programs into the machine controller, defining the bending sequence, rear stop position, and material parameters. * **Machine setup**: Selecting and installing appropriate punches and dies, adjusting pressure, and, if necessary, calibrating safety lasers. * **Material preparation**: Loading the machine with sheet metal, ensuring it is clean and properly aligned. * **Operation and adjustment**: Running the program, monitoring the process, and making real-time adjustments to control speed, force, and prevent metal deformation or cracking. * **Quality control**: Inspecting bent parts using calipers and measuring devices to verify compliance with required tolerances. * **Maintenance and safety**: Keeping the machine clean and performing basic maintenance tasks, while always remaining attentive to moving parts and safety systems.
