Collaborates on improving forest stands and infrastructure. **Positions Available** ---------------------- 1 **Company** ----------- Tragsa **Project / Reason for Hiring** --------------------------------- Empresa de Transformación Agraria, S.A., S.M.E., M.P., the parent company of the TRAGSA GROUP, specialized in works related to rural development and nature conservation, seeks to hire 1 Forestry Engineer for construction projects in the Community of Madrid. **Work Location** -------------------- * Community of Madrid Address: Leganés **Functions and Tasks** ---------------------- * Review draft forest planning documents held by the Forest Conservation Area to verify compliance with applicable management instructions and, where applicable, with forest certification requirements (UNE 16\.2002:2013\). * Update draft forest planning documents managed by the Forest Conservation Area: data, special plans, annexes, Natura 2000 network impact assessments, etc., to enable submission for approval. * Drafting of thinning plans. * Preparation of utilization proposal sheets for managed forests. * Coordination of a team of three forestry technicians whose role is to support CAM technicians in reviewing forest planning documents, updating forest planning documents, drafting thinning plans, preparing utilization proposal sheets, drafting construction projects, and setting out works on site. * On-site marking or demarcation of forest utilization areas. * Preparation of technical reports containing necessary data for inclusion in forest utilization tender specifications, following field verification of stand characteristics. * Measurements and inspections during execution of forest utilization activities. * Drafting of construction projects to be implemented in forests managed by the Forest Conservation Area: \- forest stand improvement works (silvicultural thinnings, cultural treatments, reforestation, and regeneration assistance). \- improvement or construction of basic forest infrastructure to enhance logistics, accessibility, and viability of extracting vegetation-derived products (forest roads) or pasture utilization outputs (fencing, livestock pens, drinking troughs, corrals, etc.). \- improvement of public-use infrastructure (fountains, recreational areas). * Inventory, characterization, and reporting on the condition of infrastructure in managed forests: roads, fencing, recreational areas, livestock infrastructure, fountains, etc. * Field sampling to monitor regeneration status or success rate of reforestation efforts carried out in managed forests. * On-site setting out of forest boundaries, following detailed boundary survey and, where applicable, boundary marker studies, and preparation of reports on possible cartographic adjustments. **Specific Requirements** -------------------------- Compliance with requirements must be substantiated by attaching the following documents, as applicable, under the “Annexes” section of the application (or during the process): * Official academic qualification certificate or proof of payment of fees for issuance of the academic degree. * Employment history record and/or employment contract enabling verification and validation of required professional experience. * Internship annexes enabling verification and validation of required academic experience, where applicable. ### **Education** #### **Qualification** * Hold a degree in Forestry Engineering or Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry Engineering \+ Official University Master’s Degree in Forestry Engineering (degree recognized in Spain or equivalence certificate issued by the General Secretariat of Universities) ### **Other Mandatory Requirements** * Valid Class B driver’s license **Merit Criteria (Evaluated)** ------------------------ ### **Education** #### **Additional Training** * Verifiable ArcGIS training ### **Prior Experience** * 6 months to 1 year of experience in executing forest improvement works and supervising work crews (to be assessed during technical interview) * 6 months to 1 year of experience in developing forestry projects (to be assessed during technical interview) **Observations** ----------------- * Offer includes: + Fixed-term substitute contract with an estimated duration of 5 months, depending on the triggering event. + Full-time working schedule.
