Job Summary: IDEXX is seeking a Laboratory Associate in Blood Sciences to process and analyze veterinary clinical samples, contributing to the accurate diagnosis of diseases in pets. Positive workplace culture that fosters learning and discovery Each day, IDEXX receives thousands of clinical samples from veterinary clinics and performs tests on those samples to help identify what may be affecting pets. Because accuracy and quality of results are fundamental, our Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory in Madrid focuses on processing samples rigorously, ensuring animals receive the care they need as soon as possible. **As a Lab Associate in Blood Sciences**, you will primarily work with blood samples received from veterinary clinics. Every sample you process and analyze helps veterinarians move closer to a diagnosis. This is a fixed-term contract starting on July 15 and ending on October 14. You will work part-time, for 25 hours per week. The schedule will be **from 2:30 PM to 7:30 PM, Monday through Friday**. **In this role, you will:** * Receive, prepare, and process blood samples for analysis in the Blood Sciences area. * Operate hematology and biochemistry analyzers, ensuring tests are performed correctly. * Enter and review sample data in a computerized tracking system. * Monitor result quality by following established procedures. * Support other laboratory members in sample storage and ensuring adherence to turnaround times (TAT). * Work autonomously while also receiving full support whenever needed. * Play a key role as part of a successful team, proud of its work and motivated by a shared purpose: helping veterinarians rapidly diagnose diseases in pets and animals — isn’t that great? **What You Need to Succeed:** * Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Biology / Biomedical Sciences / Animal Sciences / Zoology or equivalent * Entry-level experience in laboratory diagnostics, either gained during studies or in early professional roles * Experience in hematology, clinical biochemistry, or Blood Sciences-related testing, as well as operation of diagnostic analyzers, is preferred * Comfortable using computers for data entry * Ability to read, understand, and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including safety and quality standards * Positive, goal-oriented attitude with strong work ethic and teamwork spirit * Ability to meet physical job requirements, including standing or sitting for extended periods and meeting specific vision requirements (near vision, color perception, and depth perception) Schedule: The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, from 2:30 PM to 7:30 PM\.
