**We are seeking to incorporate a person into the R\&D Project Controlling team to provide financial support for strategic Research and Development projects carried out for various companies within the Volkswagen Group. This position represents a unique opportunity to work in an international environment, collaborating with different companies and stakeholders across the Group, and contributing to decision-making that will drive some of the sector’s most relevant innovation projects.**
Your main responsibilities will be:
* Plan and control I\+D projects (by milestones and areas) assigned to you, according to the financial targets set by the company. Manage resource allocation per project and per area (Internal/External).
* Analyze deviations and implement corrective measures to ensure financial targets, mitigate risks, and capitalize on opportunities.
* Prepare short- and long-term planning (PR, Budget, Forecast) for assigned projects, ensuring their proper sizing (by milestone and areas), as well as preparing the profit-and-loss statement, Net Cash Flow (Net cash flow), and revenue tracking. Identify associated Risks and Opportunities at each planning status.
* Ensure all projects submitted in Gremio have a funding source within the PR or BG. Approve resources within the project control system in accordance with current regulations, ensuring beforehand a correct distribution by areas, a reasonable valuation of requirements, and a balanced allocation between internal and external resources.
* Ensure accurate cost allocation in project control systems in compliance with accounting and tax regulations for each accounting close. Guarantee timely billing of projects to other Volkswagen Group companies.
* Analyze and monitor milestone-based project deviations between actual and planned data, mitigating risks and capitalizing on opportunities to ensure target achievement.
* Advise the department in decision-making through timely follow-up with project leads.
**Requirements**
**1\. Academic Qualifications:**
* Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management, Economics, Finance and Accounting, Industrial Engineering with specialization in Finance, or equivalent qualification. Postgraduate studies or a Master’s degree in Finance, Financial Management, Accounting and Auditing, Business Analytics, or Data Science applied to Finance will be highly valued.
* Certifications related to project management, data analytics, process automation, or artificial intelligence applied to finance will be considered a strong advantage.
**2\. Experience and Knowledge:**
* Proven experience (3–5 years) in Controlling or Finance, economic project management, financial analysis, or Project Controlling environments.
* Solid understanding of key corporate financial processes (management control, financial accounting, treasury, financial reporting, and core concepts of corporate taxation), as well as the ability to interpret financial statements (Profit-and-Loss Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow) and understand their impact on business decision-making.
* Experience or exposure to diverse Finance domains (Controlling, Financial Accounting, Reporting, Treasury, Taxation, or Financial Transformation) — as well as participation in international environments or cross-functional projects — is highly desirable.
* Expected to contribute cross-functionally within Finance, collaborating with departments such as Controlling, Accounting, Treasury, and Tax \& Customs; participating in inter-departmental projects; and developing an end-to-end view of the Finance function, with adaptability to diverse processes and regulatory environments.
**Mindset and Digital Skills:**
* Digital mindset and familiarity with Artificial Intelligence tools (Copilot, GenAI, or other digital solutions).
* Ability to leverage new technologies and digital tools (Power BI, Power Automate, or other automation solutions) to optimize and digitize processes, improve efficiency, and support decision-making.
* Ability to transform data into actionable insights for decision-making and use data analytics as a lever to generate business value.
