Physician's responsibilities
* Medical evaluation of residents, especially upon admission and in response to changes in their health status.
* Clinical follow-up of chronic and acute illnesses.
* Diagnosis and treatment of conditions that can be managed within the facility itself.
* Prescription, review, and adjustment of medications, coordinated with nursing and pharmacy staff.
* Periodic review of treatments to avoid duplication, drug interactions, and unnecessary medication.
* Comprehensive geriatric assessment, considering not only disease but also functional, cognitive, and social status.
* Participation in the individualized therapeutic plan and care plan for each resident.
* Prevention and management of geriatric syndromes: falls, functional decline, malnutrition, pressure ulcers, delirium, etc.
* Monitoring and follow-up of chronic diseases and prevention of decompensation.
* Ordering and interpreting laboratory tests, electrocardiograms, radiographs, or other indicated diagnostic procedures.
* Performing certain techniques and treatments that can be carried out on-site at the residence.
* Determining when referral to a primary care center (CAP), hospital, emergency department, PADES, or other healthcare resources is necessary, and coordinating with those services.
* Participating in end-of-life care, pain control, and appropriate adjustment of therapeutic effort, respecting advance directives and the individual's decisions.
* Maintaining and updating clinical records and medical documentation.
* Informing and supporting family members when clinically indicated.
* Collaborating with nursing staff and other team members to establish care protocols.
Salary: €1,221.00–€1,600.00 per month
