




Job Summary: We are seeking a Technical Department Manager to oversee processes, coordinate teams, ensure quality and environmental compliance, and supervise technical and maintenance operations. Participation in the commissioning of new processes and products UPM collaborates with TRATAMIENTOS Y ACABADOS POR CATAFORESIS (TACSA) in searching for a Technical Department Manager. • Manage assigned processes from the process map, as well as indicators under your responsibility. • Under the supervision of the Manufacturing Manager, coordinate human and material resources under your responsibility. • Achieve the company’s defined quality and environmental objectives: i.e., perform tasks that directly or indirectly impact the achievement of these objectives. • Based on overall objectives, propose departmental objectives, analyze deviations, and implement necessary corrective actions. • Project management and PPAP preparation, as well as identification and handling of specific customer requirements. • Define technical specifications for raw materials. • Define application conditions across various production processes. • Monitor and supervise process control parameters—delegated to other departments—including those related to production processes, wastewater treatment plants, or any other chemical-related processes. • Supervise physical\-chemical maintenance operations required for proper facility functioning. Report necessary facility improvements to the Maintenance Manager. • Collaborate with Production Managers, Production Engineering, and Maintenance in commissioning new production processes or products. • Collaborate with Quality on managing internal and external non-conformities, both preventively and correctionally. • Risk analysis of processes under your responsibility. • Conduct finished product control tests using available laboratory resources; subcontract tests not feasible internally due to resource limitations. • Perform tests according to customer-specified requirements. • Responsible for managing internal and external calibrations. • Motivate personnel under your supervision. • Maintain facilities in proper operational condition to meet quality, environmental, and cost objectives. • Maintain an appropriate spare parts inventory to minimize facility downtime. • Propose necessary facility improvements to achieve company-defined objectives. • Responsible for managing all documentation generated from your position. • Jointly decide with the Purchasing function on service outsourcing and selection of equipment suppliers. • Responsible for developing—in collaboration with the Quality and Environmental Management function—and implementing work procedures and instructions specified in the Quality and Environmental Management System, within your functional scope. • Comply with and promote compliance of department-specific activities outlined in the Quality and Environmental Management System. • Responsible for managing and treating TACSA’s wastewater. • Responsible for segregated waste management arising from activities under your responsibility. • Ensure compliance with and continuous improvement of occupational health and safety regulations. • Responsible for order and cleanliness across all production sections and services under your supervision. • Establish the annual budget for your area. • Identify staff training needs and develop a training plan in coordination with the Human Resources function. * Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial process management and control, preferably surface treatment processes. • Surface treatment and corrosion protection technology. • Quality and Environment. • Office software proficiency. • Process control, SPC, and generally applicable process control techniques. • Powder coating application. • Knowledge of Core Tools. * Industrial Technical Engineering degree or equivalent experience as a technician in surface treatment lines. * Catalan (spoken: advanced, written: advanced) * Spanish (spoken: advanced, written: advanced) * English (spoken: advanced, written: advanced) * Competencies / Knowledge: • Interpersonal skills. • Methodical approach. • Organized. * Permanent employment contract * Full-time position * Gross monthly salary ranging from '2857' to '3333' * Additional relevant information: Working hours are from 8:00 to 18:00, including lunch break; standard 8-hour workday Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday attendance possible.
