This role is critical to the port’s logistics chain and requires constant adherence to established procedures for handling various types of cargo. Work is performed in teams and under the supervision of foremen or port operations managers, following stowage plans and vessel schedules. The working environment is dynamic and subject to weather conditions and maritime traffic rhythms, demanding adaptability and physical stamina from the worker. In addition to manual tasks, the dockworker may assist in preparing work areas, verifying labeling, and supporting inventory activities. The contract shall be governed by the collective bargaining agreement applicable to the sector, guaranteeing a competitive base salary. Additional remuneration is provided for weekend work, public holidays, and overtime hours. Working hours are organized into rotating shifts, including schedules such as 08:00–14:00, 14:00–20:00, 20:00–02:00, and also a split shift from 08:00 to 18:00. Applicants must hold a Vocational Training qualification in the Industrial Sector, along with official accreditation for port labor. Prior experience of at least one year in similar stevedoring, cargo handling, or port logistics tasks is preferred.
