BBVA Research analyzes and forecasts major global economic, financial, digital, and geopolitical trends, as well as their implications for macro- and microeconomic developments and for the financial systems of countries relevant to BBVA—particularly those where BBVA has a presence.
Furthermore, BBVA Research produces reports on these analytical topics for public dissemination and maintains ongoing dialogue with economic policymakers, aligned with its research mission.

**About the job:**
The modeling group contributes to generating and disseminating knowledge on economic modeling and developing new tools, primarily in projects with strong quantitative analysis requirements oriented toward economic analysis, scenario generation/evaluation, climate change analysis, sectoral analysis, and the application of Machine Learning techniques to economics.
Within this context, the candidate’s responsibilities would involve participation and support—while simultaneously developing expertise—in all tasks and objectives of the team, particularly:
* Enhancing and extending the department’s quantitative models.
* Participating in projects with demanding modeling requirements (economic scenarios, real-time forecasting models using big data, sustainability and climate change, sectoral analysis, Machine Learning, etc.).
* Generating and disseminating knowledge on analytical methods and quantitative techniques.
* Achieving excellence in economic modeling and developing new tools.
We are seeking candidates at the beginning of their professional careers, with quantitative training in statistics, econometrics, and Machine Learning and AI techniques for economic analysis—ideally at the Master’s or PhD level—and with skills in database management and programming languages (Python, R, Matlab, Gauss, Rats, Stata, Codex). A minimum English proficiency level of B2–C1, both written and spoken, is required.
