We are currently seeking an **Electronic Engineer \- Barcelona** to join a major electric bicycle company located in the center of **Barcelona.** We seek a versatile engineer to support our product’s journey to market. Hardware and firmware development for our MVP (Minimum Viable Product) is nearly complete. The primary mission will be to perform final verifications and optimizations to consolidate the MVP, followed by participation in subsequent improvements and Design for Manufacturing (DFM). We are finalizing our advanced prototype to transform it into a robust, commercially ready product. This role requires a blend of hardware, firmware, and mechanical design skills, along with passion for perfecting a truly novel product. What You’ll Do and Which Projects You’ll Join: * MVP Validation and Closure: Conduct final hardware and firmware tests to validate and finalize the Minimum Viable Product. * Test System Development: Create test benches and automated validation scripts (Python, Arduino, etc.) to ensure product quality and accuracy. * Optimization and DFM: Lead future product iterations, improving the current design with a focus on Design for Manufacturing (DFM) to optimize cost and reliability. * Hardware Design: Oversee and enhance the existing flexible PCB, which integrates a complex array of analog and digital sensors with a low-power embedded system. * Firmware Development: Refine and maintain existing firmware, ensuring robustness in data acquisition, device management, and wireless communication (BLE). * Mechanical Integration: Collaborate on 3D template design, ensuring durable and ergonomic integration of electronics. REQUIREMENTS * Strong background in electronic engineering, with demonstrable experience designing and manufacturing PCBs * Embedded Systems Programmer: You are proficient in writing robust embedded C code. You have experience developing firmware in a real-time operating system (RTOS) environment. Direct experience with Zephyr or FreeRTOS is a plus. * Scripting and Automation Skills: You are proficient in Python for script creation, data analysis, and development of automated test benches—ideally using platforms such as Arduino for rapid prototyping. * Mechanical Inclination: You have experience with 3D CAD software (e.g., Onshape, SolidWorks, Fusion 360) and an intuitive understanding of electromechanical integration. * Self-Motivated, Passionate, and Pragmatic: You thrive on big challenges but remain grounded in the practical realities of engineering.
