Our Company
We are the largest Spanish airline and a leader between Europe and Latin America; we belong to the IAG airline group and are part of the oneworld alliance. Our goal is always to be the best travel option for our customers and to ensure they feel that their safety—and the quality and experience of their journey—are our top priorities. In addition to our airline operations, aircraft maintenance is one of our complementary businesses.
At Iberia, we value our professionals as role models for customers—and also within their teams. We expect everyone who joins us to embody these values.
**Job Mission**
=====================
Functional definition, development, and improvement of tools used for planning, scheduling, crew management, and reconciliation—ensuring robust, consistent, and high-quality support across various departments.
The role acts as a bridge between business users and IT teams. It combines operational needs analysis, requirement definition and prioritization, project coordination, process optimization, and implementation of new solutions—with a cross-functional view of Production areas.
The incumbent will oversee developments end-to-end—from identifying needs through to production deployment—managing scope, timelines, risks, and quality, while also seeking new models and solutions for scheduling and crew-related needs. Primary tools include Nemo and Merlin, our internal crew management systems, and DPX, focused on reconciliation and managing crew preferences. Artificial intelligence will be a key daily tool in this reality.
We seek a curious, analytical, and organized individual with an interest in technology and continuous improvement—who is excited to join a great team and develop their professional career at one of the leading airlines, Iberia. They will have the opportunity to grow professionally by participating in transformational digital initiatives led by the Directorate, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and gaining deep insight into how the company’s various Production areas operate.
**Key Responsibilities**
=========================
* Analyze user needs and translate them into functional requirements, business rules, validations, acceptance criteria, and enhancements for Directorate and Production-area tools.
* Participate in the evolution, implementation, and functional maintenance of area applications—primarily Nemo and Merlin—as well as in developing new applications and solutions within the Crew product—including, where valuable, AI-enabled solutions—ensuring service consistency and quality.
* Act as liaison between users (DPT, Crew Training, Operations, and/or HR) and IT teams, ensuring developed solutions adequately meet operational needs and facilitating clear, effective communication among all involved areas.
* Prioritize needs and requirements based on criticality, operational impact, user value, cost, effort, and dependencies.
* Coordinate and monitor projects and developments—tracking scope, milestones, budget, risks, and quality—and ensuring adherence to agreed commitments.
* Define test plans and cases, execute functional validation, identify incidents, and track resolution through to production deployment.
* Identify opportunities to improve and automate processes—aiming to reduce manual tasks, minimize errors, and accelerate management timelines.
* Design and maintain reports and dashboards enabling indicator monitoring and supporting decision-making.
* Explore and assess the potential of emerging technologies—including artificial intelligence and advanced analytics—in area processes; participate in developing and implementing applications incorporating them—particularly for request classification and prioritization, anomaly detection, validation automation, operational documentation generation, and identifying agile alternatives to current processes.
* Collaborate in deploying new tools—participating in functional definition, testing, change management, documentation development, and user support.
**Education**
=============
* University degree in Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Aeronautics, or another STEM discipline with quantitative and programming foundations.
* Advanced English proficiency—preferably C1 or equivalent—with ability to work with technical documentation and communicate effectively with vendors or international teams.
**Other Job Requirements**
===============================
* Programming: Practical knowledge of SQL and/or languages oriented toward automation and data processing. VBA or Power Automate are valued.
* Analytics and BI: Advanced Excel skills and ability to build models, reports, and dashboards in Power BI.
* Applied AI: Knowledge in the field and judgment to identify realistic use cases for generative AI or machine learning—with attention to data quality, traceability, security, and maintainability.
* Ability to learn corporate tools, operational procedures, and regulations applicable to crew members.
* Autonomy, rigorous documentation practices, user-centric orientation, and ability to test solutions prior to deployment.
* Availability and schedule flexibility compatible with critical monthly scheduling milestones.
* Teamwork, clear communication with both technical and non-technical profiles, and ability to challenge requirements when they add no value or create unnecessary complexity.
**Talent at Iberia**
========================
* We are one and diverse: We work collaboratively, openly, and inclusively in a diverse and inclusive environment.
* We invest heart and passion: We make things happen—with commitment and a strong sense of responsibility.
* We reinvent tomorrow: We seek fresh ideas to solve problems and improve processes.
* We connect with customers and colleagues: We understand internal customer needs and care about communication.
* We keep it simple and efficient: We focus on what matters and eliminate what adds no value.
* Safety is in our DNA: We rigorously apply processes in every operational decision.
