The research group of Therapies and Innovation in Neuropaediatrics and other paediatric rare diseases and Pediatric Neurology of VHIR is specialized in the development of preclinical gene therapies. The current project focuses on investigating gene\-therapy strategies based on genome editing to treat a congenital muscular dystrophy known as MDC1A. **Education and qualifications:** ###### **Required:** * PhD in Biomedicine in the last 3 years * Fluency in Catalan, Spanish, English (business level) ###### **Experience and knowledge:** ###### **Required:** * Experience in molecular and cell biology * Specific training in the use of gene editing tools for neuromuscular diseases * Knowledge in Bioinformatics and statistics * Experience in animal models (including maintenance and management of mouse colonies) * Ability to work in multidisciplinary research teams * Teaching experience ###### **Desired:** * Knowledge of science communication and women in science activities * Enrolment in outreach activities * Leadership abilities * At least 3 years of postdoctoral experience ##### **Main responsibilities and duties:** * Murine model: Experimental design, intervention, motor tests * Cell culture: Basic maintenance (subculturing, cryopreservation) * Molecular biology: Design and construction of gene transfer vectors * Flow cytometry: Cell immunophenotyping functional assays * Histologic analyses * Teaching: Predoctoral and TFM students * Generation of scientific reports and presentations **Labour conditions:** * Full\-time position: 40h/week. * Starting date: January 1st 2026\. * Gross annual salary: Remuneration will depend on experience and skills.
