You will play a critical role in driving the architecture, scalability, and quality of the digital solutions supporting life-saving therapies. Note: This position requires strong hands-on experience with Node.js and React. This is a 100% remote position, with occasional travel as required by business needs. **Essential Functions and Responsibilities** * Design, develop, and deploy full-stack applications using modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Node.js). * Build and maintain robust, scalable RESTful APIs and backend services. * Develop responsive and intuitive front\-end interfaces integrated with system APIs. * Ensure code adheres to industry best practices, coding standards, and is properly documented. * Write and maintain automated unit, integration, and end\-to\-end tests (Jest, Playwright, etc.). * Collaborate closely with cross\-functional teams, including Product, Design, and DevOps. * Design and implement secure, high\-performance systems using modern DevSecOps practices. * Refactor and modernize legacy systems while ensuring business continuity. * Stay current with advances in web technologies, AI\-assisted development tools, and industry trends. * Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and retrospectives as part of an agile team. **Requirements** ------------------------- * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience. * Proven experience with Node.js and React in building production\-ready applications. * Strong command of HTML/CSS/JavaScript, and experience with CSS preprocessors such as SCSS/LESS. * Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs; GraphQL experience is a plus. * Knowledge of modern DevOps and CI/CD practices, cloud\-native development, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). * Experience working with data layers such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Redis. * Solid understanding of software architecture, SOLID principles, and security best practices. * Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., OpenTelemetry, Prometheus) and logging frameworks. * Experience integrating or using AI/ML tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, OpenAI API) is a plus. * Excellent problem\-solving ability and ownership of features from design through deployment. **About Charles River** Charles River is an early\-stage contract research organization (CRO), with over 20,000 employees across 110 sites worldwide.
