As part of our positioning as a leading company in Defense and Security, we are seeking a Cryptographic Key Management Software Engineer to participate in the QKD GEO GARBO project, contributing to the design, development, and validation of hardware-secured key management systems (KMS). What will you do? Analyze and implement software protocols for cryptographic key management. Design, develop, and validate key management systems supported by secure hardware. Develop C/C\+\+ components focused on security services, performance, and robustness. Integrate and operate with HSMs via standard interfaces (PKCS\#11\). Design and execute unit tests (design \+ execution) to ensure quality and maintainability. Work with databases / SQL when required for persistence or auditing. Collaborate with cybersecurity, systems, and networking teams in a multidisciplinary environment. Prepare technical documentation associated with development and validation activities. We want to get to know you and understand what you can contribute. ✅ Software development experience, preferably in security/encryption environments. ✅ Advanced C\+\+ and strong proficiency in C/C\+\+ development. ✅ Experience or familiarity with HSMs and integration via PKCS\#11\. ✅ Basic knowledge of symmetric and asymmetric cryptography. ✅ Basic knowledge of or interest in QKD and/or post-quantum cryptography (PQC) (desirable). ✅ Experience in designing and executing unit tests (intermediate level). ✅ Proficiency with Linux systems (Ubuntu and/or Red Hat). ✅ Intermediate-level SQL knowledge. ✅ Analytical mindset, with attention to software quality and security. ✅ Ability to work collaboratively, communicate technical ideas effectively, and propose improvements. ✅ Availability to work in Alcobendas under a hybrid model (60% annual remote work).
