Responsibilities of a CNC press brake operator include: * **Interpretation of drawings and programs**: Read engineering drawings (CAD) and work orders to understand bending specifications, angles, and dimensions. * **CNC programming**: Input or load programs into the machine controller, defining the bending sequence, back gauge position, and material parameters. * **Machine setup**: Select and install appropriate punches and dies, adjust pressure, and calibrate safety lasers if required. * **Material preparation**: Feed sheet metal into the machine, ensuring it is clean and properly aligned. * **Operation and adjustment**: Execute the program, monitor the process, and make real-time adjustments to control speed, force, and prevent deformation or cracking in the metal. * **Quality control**: Inspect bent parts using calipers and measuring devices to verify compliance with required tolerances. * **Maintenance and safety**: Keep the machine clean and perform basic maintenance tasks, while always remaining vigilant about moving parts and safety systems.
