




Position of Forensic Physician/Forensic Medical Officer at the Judicial District of VILANOVA I LA GELTRÚ. This is a TEMPORARY CONTRACT to fill a vacancy (of indefinite duration, with a maximum term of 3 years). Duties of the Forensic Physician/Forensic Medical Officer include providing technical assistance to judicial bodies, with a standard working schedule of 7 hours per day, Monday through Friday. Additionally, depending on the location, 24-hour rotating on-call duties or weekly on-call duties—also on a rotating basis—shall be performed, distributed monthly among the Forensic Physicians/Medical Officers assigned to the respective on-call area. Professional responsibilities within this discipline include forensic pathology: functions related to medico-legal investigations and autopsies in all cases of violent death or suspected criminality, as ordered by judicial authorities; medical supervision and care for detainees, injured persons, or patients under the jurisdiction of judicial bodies, as stipulated by law and in the manner prescribed thereby. Issuing medico-legal reports and expert opinions; monitoring injuries; assessing bodily harm; conducting forensic psychiatric evaluations—including assessments of incapacity, psychiatric hospitalizations, cognitive capacity, etc.—whenever such matters are subject to judicial proceedings. They also perform investigative and collaborative functions arising from their professional role. During judicial proceedings or investigations initiated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, Forensic Physicians/Medical Officers operate under the authority of judges, magistrates, prosecutors, and Civil Registry officials, discharging their duties with full independence and strictly scientific criteria. * Minimum experience: 1 month. Only experience directly relevant to the position advertised will be considered. \- Spanish nationality required. * Competencies/knowledge: Specialization in legal and forensic medicine, and/or psychiatry, and/or traumatology, and/or gynecology, and/or other specialties (e.g., anatomical pathology); courses related to the administration of justice; certificates demonstrating proficiency in Catalan language; and professional experience directly relevant to the position. \- Prior work experience as a forensic physician, or enrollment in specialization training in legal medicine. \- Successful completion of any selective examination (competitive examinations for forensic physicians). * Employment contract type: unrestricted * Full-time position
