Software Lead WayOps is looking for a Software Lead profile eager to continue professional growth by playing a pivotal role in the technical definition of a high-impact project. We seek a cross-functional profile to serve as a bridge between Data\-AI, Web Development, and DevOps teams, facilitating collaboration and elevating software quality standards. PROJECT & TEAM You will join a strategic initiative for one of our key international clients in the pharmaceutical sector, where data platforms, Generative AI products, and complex web applications converge. This is not a people management role, but rather a technical leadership and coordination position. You will integrate into a technical team comprising backend, frontend, AI engineers, and DevOps professionals at various seniority levels. Work dynamics emphasize cross-functional collaboration, promoting autonomy, code reviews, and a hands-on approach to solving real business problems using Cloud tools efficiently. Your role will be critical in industrializing development efforts, ensuring technological and methodological alignment across the team. You will contribute architectural vision and software engineering best practices (testing, modularity, scalability) to AI models and data workflows, guaranteeing that proof-of-concepts evolve into robust, maintainable, and production-deployable products. FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for developing modern, scalable backend services, actively participating in tasks such as: * Defining and evangelizing development best practices (Clean Code, SOLID, DDD) * Leading automated testing strategy (unit, integration, E2E) * Reviewing architecture and design of hybrid solutions connecting cognitive services (Python/AI) with user interfaces (React/Node) * Technical coordination across teams to ensure clear and efficient interface contracts (APIs) * Providing technical mentoring to developers and Data profiles * Overseeing CI/CD pipelines alongside the DevOps team to ensure secure and frequent deployments * Resolving complex technical blockers requiring holistic understanding REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE To be considered, we seek a solid track record (comparable to Tech Lead or Architect level) with the ability to engage directly in development and implementation of technical solutions. Essential skills and knowledge include: * Experience technically leading software projects (with both backend and frontend vision) * Deep expertise in Python—not only for scripting but for building complex applications (FastAPI, design patterns) * Solid experience implementing testing strategies (Pytest, Jest, TDD) and quality assurance * Advanced Docker usage for service containerization and standardization of development environments * Knowledge of software architecture (microservices, hexagonal/clean architecture) * Ability to understand and coordinate frontend (React/Next.js) and backend (Node.js/Python) development * Experience in hybrid Cloud architecture—proficiency in AWS (core infrastructure) and integration with Azure (cognitive services) **Additionally, the following will be valued positively:** * Prior experience industrializing LLMs, working with Data and MLOps teams * Knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL) and container orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS) * AWS or software architecture certifications * Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum HIRING & LOCATION Collaboration will preferably be under self-employed (freelance) terms, with annual contracts and tacit renewal, within a long-term project designed to provide stability and continuity. The project requires close collaboration with the team, necessitating a hybrid work model (attending the client’s offices in Madrid/Sanchinarro three days per week) to facilitate communication and drive project momentum.
