We are over 4,000 professionals across 11 countries, with a multicultural, startup-style culture where we foster innovation, continuous learning, and the creation of high-impact solutions for our clients. **We are looking for: COBOL/Mainframe Developer** **Hybrid Position in Madrid** **Key Responsibilities:** * Analyze, modify, and test COBOL components to replace IDMS-based functionalities, ensuring correct migration to Db2 on z/OS. * Adapt and optimize COBOL code with SQL/Db2 (cursors, commits, locks, precompilation) and Db2 table access. * Design, execute, and document unit and integration tests; collaborate on defect resolution and hardening activities. * Participate in the cutover plan: final testing, incremental synchronization, error control, and rollback execution if required. * Prepare and maintain JCLs, batch jobs, and deployment artifacts; collaborate with global Legacy Transformation teams under agile practices. * Document technical and functional changes, promoting quality best practices and observability on mainframe. **Requirements:** **Mandatory:** * 3+ years of recent COBOL development experience on mainframe (z/OS). * Practical experience with Db2 for z/OS (embedded SQL, precompilers, DCLGEN, transaction control). * Solid knowledge of JCL, TSO/ISPF, and PDS/PDSE library usage. * Verifiable experience in migrations from IDMS or other legacy data models to Db2, including structural and access logic adjustments. * Experience in unit and integration testing within mainframe environments and incident management across the lifecycle. * Advanced Spanish; intermediate English (for collaboration with global teams). **Desirable:** * Knowledge of CICS, concurrency control, and Db2 performance tuning (indexes, EXPLAIN, BIND options). * Experience with mainframe change/versioning tools (e.g., Endevor, ChangeMan) and schedulers (Control-M or others). * Experience in mainframe modernization projects and production cutover/rollback plans. * Domain knowledge in Insurance (prior experience with MAPFRE or other insurers is desirable). * IBM certifications (Db2, z/OS) or equivalent training; familiarity with API/ETL integration. **We Offer** * Permanent contract with competitive salary * Flexible working arrangements and possibility of remote work. * Personalized career development plan and continuous training (certifications, English, etc.). * Participation in stable projects with a high technical component. * Flexible working hours and focus on work-life balance. * Social benefits tailored to your needs We invite you to learn more about us at http://www.neoris.com, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter or Instagram: @NEORIS.
