Adjusts temperatures of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters. Retrieves food from freezers and thaws it in refrigerators. Portioning and plating food appropriately. Manages food records. Monitors quality and quantity of prepared food. Communicates required support during peak periods. Informs chefs of leftover ingredients for use in daily changing menus. Communicates special or out\-of\-stock menu items to food and beverage service staff. Ensures food quality. Cooks in accordance with recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and cooking checklists. Prepares cold foods. Assists management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees, while serving as a role model. Complies with all company safety and security policies and procedures. Reports maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and hazardous working conditions to managers.
