**About the Team** At **Glintt Next**, we are seeking a **Data Platform Observability Engineer** to strengthen the **Functional Observability** team of one of our energy-sector partners. As a **Data Platform Observability Engineer**, your day-to-day work will focus on **designing, instrumenting, and evolving the observability strategy** for data platforms and applications—blending technical and functional metrics with a clear business orientation. You will work primarily with **Datadog APM**, instrumenting applications to collect metrics, traces, and structured logs, and defining **SLIs, SLOs, and functional KPIs** to objectively measure service health and performance. You will collaborate closely with technical and business teams to **translate functional requirements into actionable metrics**, design **high-level, business-oriented dashboards**, and ensure robust observability across **AWS** environments—providing a cross-cutting view of platform and data within a complex, high-impact technology context. **Work Modality:** 100% remote **How do we envision you?** * Strongly oriented toward **observability and metrics**, going beyond pure operations. * Comfortable working with both **technical and business teams**, helping translate functional needs into metrics and SLOs. * Analytical mindset, focused on data quality and platform-wide perspective. * Proactive, autonomous, and capable of proposing improvements to the observability strategy. **What we’re looking for** * Hands-on, practical experience with **Datadog**, especially: + **Datadog APM** + **Custom Metrics** + **Distributed Tracing** * Experience instrumenting applications for **functional and technical metrics** using Datadog. * Use of **logs as a source of metrics** (CloudWatch and/or metric generation in Datadog). * Solid knowledge of **SLI and SLO definition**, and ability to **guide functional KPI definition** jointly with business stakeholders. * Strong proficiency in **AWS**. * Instrumentation capability in: + **Python (mandatory)** + **TypeScript and Java (desirable)** * Familiarity with **OpenTelemetry** (desirable). * Advanced proficiency with the **Datadog SDK** (mandatory). * Experience with **structured logging**. * Design and construction of **high-level, business-oriented dashboards**. **Desirable qualifications** * Experience with **Grafana**, especially for visualization. * Experience in **inter-service traffic control**. * Knowledge of **Power BI** for visualization. * Experience in **gathering business requirements** to define SLOs. **Who are we?** We are **Glintt Global**, a leading consulting and technology services firm in the Iberian Peninsula, with over 30 years of experience.
