LABORATORY TECHNICIAN Participates in end-to-end efficient and high-quality sample processing within a diagnostic veterinary laboratory, contributing to improved animal health and welfare. This position includes timely sample collection and preparation, instrument setup, quality control, test performance, and result reporting. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Performs and reviews all required quality control per QA guidelines. * Achieves proficiency in sample accessioning, test performance, and result release, including but not limited to hematology, biochemistry, endocrinology, cytology, urinalysis, microbiology, serology, and protein electrophoresis. * Competent in reconciling pending lists and resolving discrepancies. * Competent in performing routine quality control and equipment maintenance. * Troubleshoots quality control, technical, and testing issues; escalates ongoing issues at the appropriate time. * Competent in identifying, communicating, and escalating issues accurately and promptly. * Coordinates with Customer Service and other laboratories or external personnel to address customer inquiries promptly via phone and email. * Reads, understands, and follows applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). * Participates in all departmental training programs; ensures continuous technical competency. * Assists with inventory management and supply ordering. * Complies with laboratory Health and Safety procedures. * Ensures the work area is clean, organized, and adequately stocked. * May be asked to participate in business initiatives, special projects, and other assignments as directed.
