Description

* The vision of the SVO\- New Products team is to create robust but cost\-effective wind turbine product designs by providing best\-in\-class system value optimization, load assessment, validation, methods, and tools. * As a SVO engineer, you will perform system value optimization work, deliver loads and cosims, prepare certification documentation, support method/standard work development, and develop the loads toolchain. **Job Description** =================== **Essential Responsibilities** * Perform system value optimization + Help perform system value optimization work, making tradeoffs in the loads, stability, operation, and performance of the product + Help perform feasibility studies and develop tech charts * Deliver NPI/DTO loads + Prepare loads inputs, create the simulation model, execute loads simulations, and perform post processing + Perform basic operability checks and frequency domain stability checks + Hand off model and controller parameters to MLA + Update load envelopes * Prepare load certification docs + Prepare certification load packages and documentation + Help address questions from certification bodies * Deliver cosims + Prepare co\-simulation for validation activities for prototype and fleet leader validation + Help resolve gaps seen between simulations and field measurement. * Develop methods and standard work + Help develop advancements in load methods + Help develop DP and standard work updates * Develop loads tool chain + Help develop improvements to the pre and post processing toolchain (excludes One Wind tools) * Overarching + Help prepare design reviews + Help prepare technical underwriting documents to support design reviews + Help assess risk and develop mitigation strategies + Help update loads DFMEA + Support lean and industrialization initiatives **Qualification/Requirements** * B.S. in Mechanical, Wind, Systems, or Aerospace Engineering from accredited university (or equivalent) **Desired Characteristics** * Technical awareness about preparing loads for wind turbines * Problem solving skills for complex problems * Software development skills * Strong oral and written communication skills, clarity of thought, and ability to defend a technical position * Master of Mechanical, Wind, Systems, or Aerospace Engineering * GE Renewable Energy Edison Engineer * Completion of Corporate required training for the Edison Engineering Development Program * Strong candidate identified **Additional Information** ========================== **Relocation Assistance Provided:** No
