Ensuring quality standards for international space programs **Job Description:** An opportunity for a CNC Machine Operator has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe (Madrid). The selected candidate will join the Space Production Business Unit. Our unit is responsible for the manufacturing of critical components for space structures. You will be part of a multidisciplinary environment where you will transform raw materials and composite materials into high-precision parts. The team's primary objective is to ensure that every component meets the quality standards required for the assembly, integration, and testing phases of international space programs. **RESPONSIBILITIES** * Operate CNC manufacturing machinery, perform dimensional control, or modify parts. * Ability to operate conventional manufacturing machinery according to material properties, use of tooling and fixtures. Ability to perform first-level maintenance. * Conduct first-level maintenance inspections and first-level quality inspections. * Input: Raw materials, machinery, tooling and tools, standard parts and components, documentation (technical instructions, user manuals, CNC software, work orders, and job cards). * Output: Fabrication of parts ready for assembly, integration, and testing. **REQUIREMENTS** * Required vocational training qualification (Grado de Formación Profesional). * Knowledge and experience in using measurement tools. * Experience in the sector and as a CNC operator, specifically with vertical lathes, for at least 2 years. * English highly valued. * Team collaborator. * Knowledge of vertical lathe-milling: equipment characteristics, axes, applications, etc. * Knowledge of conventional machining of composite material parts: tools, parameters, etc. * Knowledge of trigonometry, Cartesian-polar coordinates, etc. * Ability to operate a CNC machine according to material properties, use of tooling, fixtures, and monitoring of CNC control software. The team's primary objective is to ensure that every component meets the quality standards required for the assembly, integration, and testing phases of international space programs. **RESPONSIBILITIES** -------------------- The main tasks of the jobholder will be: * Operate CNC manufacturing machinery, perform dimensional control, and carry out necessary part modifications. * Operate conventional manufacturing machinery according to material properties, utilizing specific tooling and fixtures. * Perform first-level maintenance inspections and first-level quality inspections to ensure operational excellence. * Manage production inputs, including raw materials, machinery, tooling, standard parts, and technical documentation (technical instructions, user manuals, CNC software, and work orders). * Deliver high-quality outputs, ensuring the fabrication of parts is ready for assembly, integration, and testing (AIT). **SKILLS** ---------- Is your profile aligned to the following list of skills? We are looking forward to knowing you: * Education: Vocational Training Degree (Grado de Formación Profesional) is required. * Experience: At least 2 years of experience in the sector as a CNC operator, specifically working with vertical lathes. * Technical Knowledge: \* Proficiency in using precision measurement tools. + In-depth knowledge of vertical lathe-milling (equipment characteristics, axes, applications, etc.). + Knowledge of conventional machining for composite material parts (tools, parameters, etc.). + Solid understanding of trigonometry and coordinate systems (Cartesian-polar). * Operational Skills: Ability to operate CNC machinery according to material properties, including the use of tooling, fixtures, and monitoring of control software.
