We are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to carry out duties inherent to the position within the COL3NATUR proposal "Re-naturalization of buildings, schoolyards, and pathways for Climate Change Adaptation". The selected candidate will join the research group SaviArquitectura and collaborate in the development of project research: literature reviews, participation in methodology development, installation and monitoring of monitoring systems, energy and microclimatic simulations, among others, as well as in the analysis of results, collaboration in writing scientific articles, and other communication and dissemination activities. For this purpose, a contract for scientific and technical activities regulated by the Science Act will be offered, with a part-time commitment of 30 hours per week. https://portalcientifico.unav.edu/grupos/22518/detalle The COL3NATUR project addresses the common challenge of contributing to climate change (CC) adaptation and resilience through the re-naturalization of buildings, schoolyards, and pathways. The SUDOE region faces extreme climatic conditions including high temperatures and heatwaves, along with other impacts from wildfires or heavy rainfall, making nature-based solutions (NBS) demonstrably beneficial. However, their implementation is not proceeding with the necessary speed, robustness, and efficiency due to severe climatic conditions and a lack of adequate tools. The main objective is to strengthen and accelerate transnational development and cooperation strategies among involved stakeholders (authorities, academics, companies, and associated partners), to demonstrate the effectiveness of naturalizing buildings, schoolyards, and urban and rural pathways with varying population densities and urban development, supported by digital tools and demonstrative pilot projects that accelerate re-naturalization. The project will demonstrate the effectiveness of NBS across the SUDOE region through: 1 pilot action involving 15 schoolyards (with construction works in 3\), and 1 pilot action involving 6 pathway networks (with localized interventions in 3\). Finally, multidisciplinary and transnational training courses will be developed to promote the industrialization of construction elements incorporating NBS among current and future stakeholders. All proposed actions will contribute to the strategies and plans of competent educational and governmental authorities regarding the promotion of NBS integration in schools. Transnational cooperation will ensure the effectiveness of the climate-focused approach. The innovative aspect lies in the integration of NBS at three levels of educational environments using digital and demonstrative methodologies, and industrialization as a driver for greater and improved climate change adaptation. Direct beneficiaries of the project include transnational collaborating partners, associated partners, the educational community, competent authorities, and society as a whole. We are seeking a PhD in architecture or engineering, with experience in relevant tools and research related to the project's topic. Additionally, the candidate must possess the following skills and aptitudes: * Ability to work independently and in teams, initiative * Desire to deepen knowledge on the project’s topic and tools * Basic knowledge of statistics and programming * Intermediate or advanced skills in Envimet, DesignBuilder, and ArcGIS (or similar software) * Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish Interested applicants must submit: * Curriculum vitae * Detailed academic certification of completed studies * Research output requirements: at least one six-year research period (sexenio) or equivalent merits * Internationalization requirements: at least 3 months of international stay * Cover letter explaining the applicant's suitability for the research activities to be carried out.
