Adjust oven, broiler, grill, and roaster temperatures. Retrieve frozen food items and thaw them in the refrigerator. Verify proper portion sizes, plating, and food garnish. Manage food logs. Monitor the quality and portion sizes of prepared food. Provide support during busy periods. Inform the chef of leftover food items available for daily specials. Notify food and beverage service staff of special menu items and out\-of\-stock items. Inspect food quality. Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists. Prepare cold food items. Support management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees, and serve as a role model. Comply with all company, safety, and security policies and procedures; report service deficiencies, accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to management; and complete safety training and certifications. Maintain a neat, professional uniform and personal appearance; safeguard confidentiality of proprietary information; and protect company assets. Anticipate and address guest service needs.
