We’re looking for a **Cloud Solutions Architect** who is much more than a technical expert. We seek a strategic partner and trusted advisor who integrates into one of our most important accounts to act as the primary technical catalyst between the client and our delivery teams. This is not a traditional architecture role. You will be the fundamental nexus ensuring that the solutions we design are not only technically excellent but intrinsically aligned with the client’s business logic, processes, and full technology ecosystem. Your mission will be twofold: first, guide the client in their cloud strategy with a long\-term vision; second, empower our delivery teams with the clarity and context needed for flawless execution. **Responsibilities** **1\. Strategic Advisory and Client Relationship:** * Serve as the primary technical and trusted point of contact for client stakeholders—from engineering teams to IT leadership. * Develop deep, holistic knowledge of the client’s environment—not only their cloud infrastructure but also their legacy applications, dependencies, business processes, and organizational culture. * Translate the client’s business objectives into an evolutionary and pragmatic technology roadmap, proactively identifying opportunities for optimization, innovation, and cost savings. * Lead co\-creation workshops and design sessions to align Kyndryl’s capabilities with the client’s emerging needs—challenging preconceived notions when necessary to ensure the best solution. **2\. Technical Leadership and Delivery Support:** * Design robust, scalable, secure, and efficient cloud architectures across multi\-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), ensuring native integration with the client’s existing systems. * Serve as the highest technical authority within the account, providing delivery teams (engineers, system administrators) with detailed designs, governance principles, and best practices to follow. * Act as the escalation point for the most complex technical challenges faced by delivery teams—guiding problem resolution and ensuring fidelity to the original design. * Validate that final solution implementations match the defined architecture—ensuring quality and operational excellence. **3\. Governance and Continuous Improvement:** * Establish and maintain a cloud architecture governance framework within the account, ensuring compliance with both Kyndryl and client standards. * Document the client’s current and future architecture state—creating a single source of truth to guide all initiatives. * Stay at the forefront of technological trends and continuously evaluate new services and tools that can deliver tangible value to the client. **Who You Are** **Essential Technical Knowledge** * **Proven Cloud Experience:** Minimum of \[5\-7] years of hands\-on experience designing and implementing complex solutions on major platforms: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud. * **Strong Infrastructure Fundamentals:** Deep knowledge of networking (VPC, peering, DNS, firewalls), storage systems, databases (SQL and NoSQL), and operating systems (Linux/Windows). * **Integration Architecture:** Experience connecting cloud environments with on\-premise systems (hybrid architectures). Understanding of APIs, event buses, and integration patterns. * **Software Development Experience**, familiarity with Python, Node/JS, or Java, as well as observability and quality tools (Sonar, Prometheus/Grafana, ELK/EFK, Jest, Cypress, Selenium, or similar). * **Automation and DevSecOps:** Mastery of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM) and CI/CD principles. Practical knowledge of container orchestration tools (Kubernetes, OpenShift). Solid understanding of the software lifecycle (from design and development through deployment and maintenance). * **Security and Compliance:** Experience designing secure architectures applying "secure\-by\-design" principles and knowledge of regulations such as ISO 27001, GDPR, etc. **Key Skills and Mindset (Soft Skills)** * **Business Acumen:** The critical ability to understand the "why" behind technical requests. You do not accept a requirement without understanding the business value it aims to generate. * **Exceptional Communication and Empathy:** Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non\-technical audiences and to actively listen—understanding the client’s concerns and language. You are a translator between worlds. * **Influence\-Based Leadership:** You won’t manage a direct team, but you must guide, influence, and mentor delivery engineers—and earn the trust of client leaders through your knowledge and judgment. * **Complex Problem Solving:** You possess an analytical, structured mindset. When facing a problem, you can decompose it, evaluate multiple solutions, and make informed decisions—even with incomplete information. * **Patience and Resilience:** You understand that embedded client work is a marathon, not a sprint.
