In this context, the DATA function’s mission is to ensure decisions are made at the highest possible level of granularity, based on reliable, accessible, and relevant data, as well as to turn data and algorithms into key elements in the creation of products, services, and processes. Within this transformation, the Data Expert role in Commercial, CIB \& Sustainability positions itself as a critical figure to enable effective data usage in strategic initiatives—particularly those linked to artificial intelligence, automation, and new business models. The Data Expert not only ensures data availability and quality but also acts as a translator between business, data, and technology, building the semantic layer and business context required for data to be understandable, usable, and scalable in analytical and AI solutions. In an environment where intelligent assistants, agents, and AI robots are redefining banking operations, this role is key to structuring the bank’s knowledge (processes, customers, products, risks, and operations) and transforming it into high-quality inputs enabling the development of more accurate, relevant, and competitive AI solutions. Moreover, this role actively contributes to AI adoption within the bank—not only from a data perspective but also by incorporating best practices, emerging market trends, and new capabilities. The Data Expert will work in highly innovative environments, participating in transformational initiatives (e.g., AI Banker), where agile prototyping, experimentation, and long-term impact take priority over traditional models. **About the job:** **Main responsibilities** ------------------------- 1\. Data management and understanding (Data Availability \& Semantic Layer) * Facilitate comprehensive understanding of data within projects, ensuring correct functional and semantic interpretation. * Build and maintain the data semantic layer, connecting sources, definitions, and business usage. * Identify data availability across the organization and assess suitability for use cases. * Detect needs for new data or transformations, collaborating on their functional definition and governance. * Ensure data quality through definition of rules, controls, and certifications. * Lead functional data governance: definition of SLAs, standards, and source validation. * Coordinate the construction and maintenance of reliable, reusable datasets. * Identify and structure the bank’s business context (processes, customers, products, risks, operations) necessary to enrich data and enable its use in AI solutions. * Translate this context into actionable, structured information to feed AI assistants, agents, and robots—enhancing their accuracy, relevance, and ability to deliver value in real business scenarios. 2\. Driving data- and AI-based transformational projects * Participate in and lead high-impact initiatives integrating advanced analytics, automation, and artificial intelligence. * Connect technical design (data, models, algorithms) with tangible business outcomes. * Define hypotheses, rapidly validate, and promote experimentation cycles (“fail fast”). * Drive transformational pilots and scale those with proven impact. * Define and prioritize roadmap and backlog in coordination with stakeholders. * Align business, technology, risk, and compliance to make use cases viable. 3\. Evolution of the data model and operational environment * Challenge and promote evolution of traditional frameworks (governance, compliance, risk, processes) to enable data and AI usage. * Identify structural limitations and propose solutions to accelerate development of data\-driven initiatives. * Contribute to continuous improvement of the bank’s Data Availability model. 4\. AI adoption and connection with the innovation ecosystem * Act as a reference within the team on using data to enable AI solutions (including GenAI, assistants, and agents). * Promote responsible AI adoption in daily team activities. * Identify and introduce market best practices, trends, and innovations in AI and data. * Collaborate in defining new use cases where data is a key enabler of intelligent solutions. * Support integration of data into assistants, copilots, and AI-based tools. * Provide the necessary business context to train, configure, and improve AI assistants and agents—ensuring they accurately reflect the bank’s operational reality. * Contribute to making AI robots and solutions more competitive through knowledge structuring, data quality, and definition of relevant usage contexts. * Foster an AI usage culture within the team, facilitating practical adoption and helping translate technological capabilities into real business applications. 5\.
