Description

At Enagás, we seek talent to tackle future challenges and fulfil our purpose: energy decarbonisation and supply security. Join our team and help build a more sustainable future! Where? In our Environmental Management Department, located at our headquarters in Madrid. What for? To support the environmental permitting of energy infrastructure projects—with a particular focus on renewable gas projects (hydrogen, biomethane, etc.) and new energy molecules—playing a key role in the technical review and monitoring of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), as well as in managing the environmental documentation required to obtain permits and authorisations. The technician will act as the environmental liaison with external engineering firms, coordinating the proper integration of environmental requirements into project design from early stages, supported by GIS tools and analysis of climate impact and associated carbon footprint. Environmental Permitting of Projects * Technical support in the environmental permitting of energy infrastructure projects, especially those related to renewable gases and new energy molecules. * Analysis and interpretation of applicable environmental legislation and environmental assessment procedures. * Review, monitoring and comprehensive management of environmental documentation required for obtaining permits and authorisations (environmental assessments, sectoral reports, environmental authorisations, discharge permits, etc.). Review of Environmental Impact Assessments * Participation in the preparation, technical review and monitoring of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and complementary sectoral studies (noise, air quality, biodiversity, soils, water, landscape, among others). * Verification of the technical consistency of studies and their compliance with current legislation and the criteria set by the competent environmental authority. * Monitoring of environmental conditions throughout the design, construction and operation phases of projects. Coordination with External Engineering Firms * Ongoing technical liaison with external engineering firms, ensuring that designs, alternatives and construction solutions incorporate environmental requirements from early stages. * Review of technical deliverables prepared by engineering firms, validating their environmental consistency. * Support in preparing responses to requests, objections and conditions raised by environmental authorities. Use of GIS and Environmental Analysis * Use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for territorial and environmental analysis of projects. * Identification of impacts on protected areas, biodiversity and sensitive elements. * Review and preparation of environmental cartography associated with EIAs and permitting documentation. Climate Change and Carbon Footprint * Support in calculating and analysing the carbon footprint of projects, considering both construction and operational phases. * Identification of emission reduction opportunities and proposals for mitigation measures to be integrated into project design. * Monitoring of regulatory and methodological requirements related to climate change and GHG emissions in the context of projects. What are we looking for? * University degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences or other related technical disciplines. * Minimum 3 years’ experience in environmental permitting of infrastructure projects and review of EIAs. * Advanced level of English (spoken and written). * Knowledge of: * Environmental legislation and environmental assessment procedures. * Processing of environmental authorisations and management of conditions. * Proficiency in GIS tools (QGIS, ArcGIS or others). * Knowledge of carbon footprint calculation and climate change in projects (methodologies, emission factors). * Basic knowledge of environmental management systems (ISO 14001, ISO 50001 is desirable).
