Description

At Enagás, we seek talent to tackle future challenges and fulfil our purpose: decarbonisation and energy supply security. Join our team and let’s build a more sustainable future! Where? In our Environmental Management Department, located at our headquarters in Madrid. What for? To support the environmental management of the company’s existing and under-development infrastructure, with particular focus on new energy infrastructure projects—including initiatives centred on renewable gases—where you will play a key role in environmental permitting. This includes analysing regulatory requirements and reviewing and tracking the documentation required to obtain environmental permits and authorisations. You will also participate in maintaining and improving the environmental management system, with special attention to initiatives related to biodiversity, climate change, energy efficiency, waste management, and other key areas, thereby contributing to continuous improvement of environmental performance in line with corporate strategy. Specifically, you will support the following project types: Environmental permitting of energy infrastructure projects, with a specific focus on renewable gases (hydrogen, biomethane, etc.) and new molecules (CO₂, NH₃, etc.): * Providing technical advice and support to engineering teams, ensuring that design decisions, site selection, and operational criteria integrate environmental considerations from early stages, minimising impacts and facilitating the acquisition of environmental permits. * Participating in the preparation, review, and monitoring of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) as well as complementary sectoral studies (noise, air, biodiversity, soils, water, etc.), ensuring their proper alignment with legal requirements and best practices. * Conducting thorough review, tracking, and comprehensive management of the environmental documentation required for permit and authorisation procedures (e.g., environmental assessment, integrated environmental authorisation, sectoral reports, discharge permits, among others), ensuring regulatory compliance across all project phases—design, construction, and operation—with particular emphasis on projects related to renewable gases and new energy molecules. * Coordinating and participating in meetings with regulatory bodies, environmental agencies, and other key stakeholders, focusing on the technical review of requirements, objections, and conditions, as well as preparing responses, supplementary documentation, and necessary corrective measures to ensure authorisation processes proceed within established timelines and in accordance with regulatory standards. Management and maintenance of environmental, energy, and waste management systems: * Identification, assessment, and control of environmental aspects and impacts associated with the company’s activities and projects. * Monitoring and tracking of key environmental and energy performance indicators, ensuring compliance with corporate objectives and targets. * Analysis and assessment of applicable legal and regulatory requirements, ensuring their correct integration into internal processes. * Supporting the preparation and follow-up of environmental, energy, and waste management audits, facilitating required documentation and evidence. * Preparing environmental reports and declarations, and completing forms mandated by current legislation. Biodiversity management: identifying nature-related risks and opportunities, and proposing measures to minimise impacts arising from the company’s activities, aligned with recognised frameworks such as TNFD. Sustainability, environmental management, and biodiversity advisory: providing technical environmental support in the analysis and development of the company’s new projects and initiatives, as well as in due diligence processes, ensuring the integration of environmental and sustainability criteria from initial stages. What are we looking for? * University degree (Engineering or Technical Bachelor’s degree) * Minimum 3 years’ experience performing the described or related functions * English: advanced spoken and written proficiency * Proficiency in standard computer applications * Knowledge of: * Environmental legislation (biodiversity, waste, GHG emissions) * Environmental and energy management systems * Use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for spatial analysis, modelling, and monitoring of environmental and biodiversity aspects * Sustainability reporting standards (CSRD, GRI) Why join Enagás? * We are a Top Employer!
