Main Functions and Responsibilities The functions of a primary school teacher encompass academic, formative, and organizational domains. Among the most important are: Teaching Planning and Preparation * Plan and prepare appropriate, balanced, relevant, and differentiated lessons for students, aligned with the school’s objectives and the official curriculum \-3\-8\. * Collaborate with colleagues on didactic planning, sharing ideas and jointly planning units and lessons \-1\. * Design classroom experiences that foster curiosity, engagement, and learner independence \-3\-8\. * Ensure appropriate curriculum differentiation to meet the personalized needs of all students \-3\-8\. Requirements and Qualifications Academic Qualifications (Mandatory in Spain) * Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education (or equivalent teaching qualification) \-2\-4\-5\. * This degree qualifies the holder to teach all subjects in the primary education stage \-5\. Additional Qualifications (Highly Valued) * Master’s Degree in Teacher Training or other educational master’s programs \-1\-10\. * Specialization in Therapeutic Pedagogy (TP) or Audiology and Language (AL). * Training in active methodologies: Project-Based Learning (PBL), Cooperative Learning, Gamification, Design Thinking \-4\. * Training in Educational Robotics, Computer Science, or Programming for teachers \-4\. * Knowledge of international programs such as the International Baccalaureate (IB PYP \- Primary Years Programme) or the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) \-4\-9\. * Certification in Positive Discipline or in child safeguarding and protection \-1\-10\. * First aid training. Languages * Spanish: native or advanced proficiency (C1/C2\) \-2\. * English: C1 or C2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), especially in bilingual or international schools \-1\-4\. * Co-official language (Catalan, Galician, Basque): as required by the respective Autonomous Community \-6\-7\. Experience * Prior experience as a primary school teacher is highly valued; typically, at least two years in similar roles is required \-1\-7\. * For entry-level positions or substitute roles, experience is not always mandatory, with practicum placements completed during the undergraduate degree being considered.
