Here, you will find the freedom to grow in a world of opportunities. **Here, you will have the freedom to grow in a world of opportunities.** **Job Description** As a **Senior Engineer in Traction Electrical Systems**, you will serve as a Principal Engineer within AECOM EC's Rail Systems department, leading, advocating, and developing activities related to traction power supply substations for railway lines. The scope of work includes designing traction substation systems from conceptual through detailed construction phases for high-speed rail, regional, commuter, metro, or tramway lines. In addition to facility design, responsibilities also include construction support and collaboration during operation and maintenance phases. **Key Responsibilities:** * Contribute throughout all project phases to the development of traction substation designs and to the operation of the traction electrical system. * Using AECOM’s proprietary power simulation tool, participate in sizing the traction substation system, including the location and main characteristics of TPS equipment. * Conduct electrical studies to properly size traction substation facilities and equipment. * Prepare technical specifications for equipment within simulations. * Prepare and revise designs, calculations, diagrams, and facility drawings. * Define and develop interfaces with other disciplines within projects, and attend coordination and design meetings as required. * Integrate the design process into the project’s System Engineering and System Assurance (SESA) framework. * Provide technical support during construction, testing, and commissioning phases. * Lead the development and implementation of design concepts and solutions. * Ensure compliance with technical and safety standards across all design aspects to ensure project success and future reliability. **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements:** * At least 10 years of overall experience in the electrical or rail industry. * At least 4 years of experience in the responsibilities outlined in the job description. * Experience with SESA procedures for rail projects. * Software: ETAP, BIM, AutoCAD. * Advanced level of spoken and written English. **Education:** * Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. **Additional Information** **At AECOM, you will have freedom to grow in a world of opportunity** *Our Freedom to Grow hybrid working philosophy is the cornerstone of our success as a business – supporting a culture of flexibility, trust and performance at AECOM.* Add this part into the additional information section \#LI\-GA1 **About AECOM** AECOM is the world’s trusted infrastructure consulting firm, delivering professional services across the entire project lifecycle—from advisory, planning, design, and engineering to program and construction management.
