OT Communications Manager

As part of our growth and organizational strengthening, we are seeking to hire an **OT Communications Manager** for our technical team, responsible for designing, coordinating, and standardizing industrial communications across our renewable energy projects—particularly photovoltaic (PV) plants, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and hybrid projects.
We seek a candidate with solid technical expertise in industrial networks and communications, capable of defining robust architectures, leading a technical team, and ensuring proper integration of various plant systems and equipment.
What will your day-to-day responsibilities be?
* Lead the design and definition of communication architectures for our PV, BESS, and hybrid projects.
* Define network segments, VLANs, IP addressing, ports, connectivity, and static routing.
* Supervise the design of cabling layouts, communication diagrams, network schematics, and technical documentation.
* Define and validate industrial communication protocols such as IEC 60870\-5\-104, DNP3, and Modbus, among others.
* Ensure compatibility and integration among SCADA, RTUs, PLCs, gateways, industrial switches, and equipment from different manufacturers.
* Analyze customer technical requirements and adapt communication solutions to meet each project’s specific needs.
* Coordinate and allocate tasks across the global communications team, supervising proper execution and ensuring internal coordination.
* Collaborate with other technical disciplines to ensure efficient plant system integration.
* Provide remote technical support for incidents and participate in resolving communication-related issues.
* Guarantee robust, standardized solutions aligned with each project’s technical and operational criteria.
Requirements
* University degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
* 12\-15\+ years of professional experience, with a strong background in industrial communications, OT networks, and/or automation applied to electrical, energy, or industrial environments.
* Advanced experience in designing and defining OT communication and network architectures, including TCP/IP, VLANs, IP addressing, segmentation, ports, and routing.
* Experience working with industrial protocols such as IEC 60870\-5\-104, DNP3, and Modbus.
* Solid knowledge of SCADA, RTUs, PLCs, gateways, and industrial switches, as well as integration among equipment from different manufacturers.
* Demonstrable experience leading or coordinating technical teams, distributing workloads, and supervising deliverables.
* Ability to interpret customer technical requirements and translate them into robust, scalable communication solutions.
* Autonomy, problem-solving capability, and sound judgment for making technical decisions.
* Availability to respond to critical incidents outside regular working hours when necessary, providing remote support to ensure continuous plant communication operations.
* Experience in renewable energy projects—including photovoltaic plants, BESS, electrical substations, or hybrid plants—will be highly valued.
