You’ve probably heard of or at least recognize **Fontaines D.C.** and **The Murder Capital**, but what about NewDad, Inhaler, Lankum, Gurriers, or these ***SPRINTS*** who’ll blow your eardrums in April? All are Irish bands—but only the one playing at Galileo features the fiercely punky voice of **Karla Chubb**, whose gothic tastes shine through; at times she recalls ’90s **Polly Jean**, and at others **Amy Taylor**, the combative, feminist, and thoroughly punk frontwoman of Australian powerhouse **Amy & The Sniffers**—a band I highly recommend, by the way. Yes, SPRINTS pack plenty of raw noise, they’re deeply garage-rooted, yet they also carry that post-punk sheen that almost unites all the bands mentioned above.
