Technical Manager – Seedling Nursery

A leading company in the agricultural sector, specializing in the production of high-quality horticultural plants, is seeking to hire an Agricultural Engineer with a solid professional background to assume technical responsibility for its seedling nursery. We are looking for a candidate with at least 10 years of documented experience in seedling nurseries or companies engaged in plant production, possessing extensive technical knowledge, strong organizational skills, team leadership capabilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Salary: €60,000 gross + company car + benefits Key responsibilities: \* Assume overall technical direction and coordination of the seedling nursery. \* Plan, organize, and supervise plant production. \* Optimize processes including sowing, germination, grafting, acclimatization, cultivation, and dispatch. \* Conduct agronomic management of crops and supervise quality standards. \* Coordinate work teams and section supervisors. \* Identify, diagnose, and manage phytosanitary, nutritional, and cultivation-related issues. \* Propose and implement technical improvements aimed at increasing productivity, efficiency, and plant quality. \* Maintain technical communication with clients, suppliers, seed companies, and variety breeders. \* Prepare technical reports and monitor key production indicators. Requirements: \* University degree in Agricultural Engineering. \* Minimum verifiable 10 years of experience in technical or managerial roles within a professional seedling nursery. \* Advanced knowledge of horticultural plant production, vegetative propagation, grafting, and crop management. Experience in organizing, coordinating, and managing teams. \* Analytical ability, planning skills, autonomy, and sound judgment for decision-making. Results-oriented, quality-focused, and committed to continuous improvement. \* Willingness to work on-site in the Campo de Cartagena region. Particularly valued: \* Experience in high-volume seedling nurseries. \* Knowledge of automation, technological advancement, and innovation applied to agricultural processes. \* Experience with quality systems, traceability, and sector-specific certifications. \* Proficiency in production planning and management software. \* Technical English proficiency.
