**Facility Maintenance and Safety Officer** **Job Description** An educational center located in the Tarragona region is seeking a **Facility Maintenance and Safety Officer** to join its team. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper operation, maintenance, and safety of all center facilities, including buildings for early childhood, primary, and secondary education, guaranteeing their efficiency, sustainability, and compliance with current regulations. Additionally, they will lead the **Integrated Maintenance Plan**, **safety and emergency management**, and **health prevention control**, ensuring a safe, healthy, and sustainable school environment. **Main Responsibilities** * Plan, execute, and update the center’s Preventive and Corrective Maintenance Plan (electricity, plumbing, air conditioning, cleaning, gardening, security, etc.). * Develop, update, and implement the Safety and Emergency Plan, participating in drills, inspections, procedure development and documentation, and staff training. * Coordinate and supervise external maintenance companies and specialized service providers. * Ensure compliance with health and safety prevention regulations, particularly regarding legionella: temperature monitoring, treatment and cleaning of water tanks and circuits, recording of actions, and coordination with certified companies. * Respond to incidents and emergencies, with availability to travel to the center outside working hours if required. * Act as the safety officer and liaison with external services (electrical installations, fire protection, elevators, alarms, police, etc.). * Supervise the proper functioning of security systems and alarms, and coordinate periodic inspections. * Perform repairs on installations and equipment (electricity, plumbing, painting, furniture, etc.). * Maintain and monitor outdoor areas, green spaces, and access points. * Manage and oversee waste, trash, and recycling services, ensure cleanliness and maintenance of collection points, and collaborate with municipal or private waste management services to guarantee efficient and sustainable operations. * Control and manage inventory of materials, tools, and supplies. * Provide logistical support for setting up and dismantling spaces for educational or institutional activities (within or outside the school premises as needed). * Promote sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives: resource optimization, reduction of water and energy consumption, waste management, etc. * Use computer tools for task planning, incident logging, and follow-up. * Perform occasional transfers using the center's vehicle or personal vehicle if necessary. * Experience in designing, implementing, and executing the school’s gardening program—including maintenance of green areas, trees, ornamental plants, and lawns—and promoting responsible and sustainable use of natural resources (water, fertilizers, etc.) will be valued. **Requirements** * Intermediate or advanced vocational training in technical fields (installations, maintenance, electricity, mechanics, or similar). * Minimum of 3\-5 years of experience in building or facility maintenance. * General knowledge of electricity, plumbing, air conditioning, safety, and facility management. * Basic knowledge of occupational risk prevention and legionella control. * Basic computer skills for maintenance management. **Skills and Competencies** * Autonomy, organization, and responsibility. * Ability to prioritize incidents and resolve them quickly and efficiently. * Teamwork and good interaction with teaching staff, students, and families. * Proactive attitude and commitment to continuous improvement. * Commitment to the center’s values of safety, sustainability, and efficiency. * Good command of Spanish and Catalan. * Knowledge of English will be an advantage. **Valued Qualifications** * Experience in school or similar environments requiring a combination of technical skills and user service. * Specific training in emergency plans, occupational risks, and legionella control. * Knowledge of first aid and building safety. * Training or awareness in sustainability and energy efficiency. **We Offer** * Indefinite employment contract, with conditions according to collective agreement and professional profile. * Full-time schedule from Monday to Friday (base schedule to be confirmed: 8\.00 to 17\.00h, with one hour for lunch). * Start date: December\-January. * Stable work environment with continuous training and technical support. * Positive work atmosphere and integration into an innovative, international, safe, and sustainable educational project.
