Cutting Operator

Description

Personnel are required to carry out cutting and sizing processes for wood-based panels and their derivatives in an industrial environment. The selected candidate will be responsible for interpreting manufacturing orders, technical drawings, and cutting diagrams to optimize material utilization and minimize production waste. Attention to technical details and consistent commitment to operational efficiency standards are essential. Key responsibilities include operating specialized machinery such as automatic and semi-automatic panel saws, wall-mounted saws, and cutoff saws. It is also necessary to configure and calibrate equipment parameters—adjusting dimensions, angles, feed speeds, and stops—according to the technical specifications of each production batch. After cutting, quality checks are performed by verifying part dimensions using precision measuring tools such as calipers or tape measures, ensuring compliance with specified tolerances and correct squareness. Additionally, the position involves organizing and preparing for subsequent production stages: identifying and labeling each cut piece, followed by orderly palletizing or stacking onto trolleys for transport to edging, machining, or assembly areas. Finally, the individual is responsible for basic maintenance of their workstation and equipment, including cleaning, chip vacuuming, and inspection or replacement of cutting blades, to maintain finish quality and operational safety. A minimum of six months to one year of prior experience in roles involving panel cutting, slitting, or cutoff operations is required, preferably within the wood, furniture, or industrial carpentry sector. Demonstrated proficiency and hands-on experience operating panel saws, wall-mounted saws, and cutoff saws—as well as using precision measuring tools such as calipers, tape measures, and squares—are mandatory. No specific academic qualifications are required for this position.
