LAB TECHNICIAN Participates in end\-to\-end efficient and high\-quality sample processing within a diagnostic reference veterinary laboratory, contributing to improved animal health and welfare. This position includes timely sample collection and preparation, instrument setup, quality control, test performance, and result reporting. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Performs and reviews all required quality control according to QA guidelines. * Achieves proficiency in sample access, test performance, and result release, including but not limited to hematology, biochemistry, endocrinology, cytology, urinalysis, microbiology, serology, and protein electrophoresis. * Competent in reconciling pending lists and resolving discrepancies. * Competent in performing routine quality control and equipment maintenance. * Resolves quality control, technical, and testing issues; escalates ongoing issues at the appropriate time. * Competent in identifying, communicating, and escalating issues accurately and promptly. * Coordinates with Customer Service and other laboratories or external personnel to address customer inquiries promptly via phone and email. * Reads, understands, and follows applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). * Participates in all departmental training programs; ensures continuous technical competency. * Assists with inventory management and supply ordering. * Complies with laboratory Health and Safety procedures. * Ensures the work area is clean, organized, and adequately stocked. * May be asked to participate in business initiatives, special projects, and other tasks as assigned.
