IMDEA Materials has grown rapidly since its foundation and currently includes more than 120 researchers from 22 nationalities and has become one of the leading research centers in materials in Europe which has received the María de Maeztu seal of excellence from the Spanish government. The research activities have been focused on the areas of materials for transport, energy, and health care and the Institute has state\-of\-the\-art facilities for processing, characterization and simulation of advanced materials. **Description** The selected candidate will work on extrusion, injection, compression, and 3D printing processes for the processing of such materials. Regarding thermomechanical characterization of these materials, techniques such as thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), rheology, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) will be included. Fire performance testing of these materials will also be carried out, and the candidate must be capable of developing records for experimental data analysis and interpretation. Once trained, the selected technician will manage the procurement of laboratory materials, consumables, and chemicals; supervise proper storage of laboratory materials and waste disposal; be responsible for maintenance, repair, and upgrading of laboratory equipment; deliver appropriate training to new users; manage equipment booking schedules; and train and advise users on safe working procedures, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and correct use of PPE. **Requirements** **EDUCATION** * Technical Engineering or Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related fields. * Master’s Degree in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related areas. **EXPERIENCE** * Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a similar laboratory. * Experience in laboratory management (procurement of consumables and scientific equipment, user training, etc.). * Experience in managing scientific infrastructure (procurement, calibration and maintenance, training, etc.). * Experience in laboratories within multinational and multicultural environments. * Demonstrable experience in polymer processing via extrusion, compression molding, and injection molding; additive manufacturing (3D printing). * Knowledge of physicochemical and thermomechanical characterization of polymeric and composite materials. * Prior experience in research institutions, technology centers, or universities. * Basic knowledge of occupational health and safety (OHS) in chemical laboratories. Preferred: * Experience in R&D&i projects. * Experience in fire performance testing of polymeric materials. * Ability to work effectively in teams, organize tasks, and focus on results. **LANGUAGES** * English at least B1 level according to the CEFR. **DIGITAL COMPETENCE** Advanced user of: * Microsoft Office, preferably Office 365, especially Excel and Word. * Aspire CAD\-CAM. * Additive manufacturing slicing software (PrusaSlicer and Cura) **Conditions** To be completed by HR Applications are processed upon reception.
