INES is seeking a civil engineer with interest in developing expertise in analyzing the impact of climate-related risks on infrastructure assets (roads, railways, buildings, bridges, etc.) to join our team. INES will provide training to expand your knowledge in areas such as hazard mapping, vulnerability and criticality assessment, formulation of adaptation measures, cost-benefit analysis for prioritization and definition of resilience improvement strategies, implementation of early warning systems, development of digital twins, forensic analysis, development of predictive models, etc.
INES Ingenieros Consultores is a firm with 20 years of experience, specializing in structural engineering for both civil works and building construction, and with 15 years of experience in consulting projects on climate risks applied to civil infrastructure assets. We work extensively with multilateral organizations such as the World Bank across various global regions—including the Caribbean, Central Asia, and Oceania—where hurricanes, tropical storms, and earthquakes frequently occur; we also operate domestically, where attention to climate impacts on infrastructure operation is increasingly gaining prominence. RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Participation in projects assessing risks and enhancing resilience of infrastructure elements under climatic actions.
* Conducting forensic studies to determine causes of infrastructure failures resulting from climatic events.
* Proposing early warning systems based on instrumentation to anticipate adverse effects of climatic events.
* Developing digital twins focused on real-time monitoring of asset behavior. Managing databases and applying statistical models to implement predictive strategies for infrastructure asset management.
* Formulating strategies to improve resilience of transportation networks.
* Developing hydraulic models to produce flood exposure maps.
* Conducting vulnerability assessments of infrastructure assets against specific climatic actions.
* Proposing and evaluating adaptation measures.
* Delivering training courses for our clients.
* Participating in conferences, research projects, and scientific article preparation.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (ICCP) or equivalent.
* 0–5 years of professional experience.
* Proficiency in GIS tools, hydraulic modeling software (HEC-RAS / Infoworks / IBER / etc.), and Power BI is desirable.
* Programming knowledge is an advantage.
* Advanced user of Excel and PowerPoint.
* Knowledge of foreign languages is advantageous.
