The Stanley Bailey Rough Bench No. 5 is ideal for shaping larger workpieces thanks to its long, smooth sole. A rough bench is used to flatten and join boards. It is indispensable for manual flat processing of boards, as its great length makes it ideal for planing. The Bailey Rough Bench No. 5 with adjustable planing mouth is particularly suitable for processing fresh and resinous wood. The cutting depth can be adjusted to millimeter fractions with a knurled screw, and horizontal corrections can be made with the lateral adjustment lever. The planer body is made of black lacquered cast iron, the sole and outer sides are ground smooth. The planer blade is made of chrome carbon steel.
