




Department: KITCHEN Position: PASTRY CHEF Reports to: EXECUTIVE CHEF **RESPONSIBILITIES FOR HOTEL MARBELLA CLUB** * Must know, understand, and behave within the hotel (with energy and enthusiasm) in accordance with the history, culture, tradition, and spirit that have made Hotel Marbella Club a brand in itself and a destination hotel with a globally recognized reputation and prestige. Will always act according to what is expected from Hotel Marbella Club and its employees. * Must be an ambassador of Hotel Marbella Club both inside and outside the premises, always speaking positively about the hotel and any aspect of it. * Maintains a high level of communication with hotel staff, especially those with whom they collaborate daily. * Maintains all quality standards specific to Hotel Marbella Club and Leading Hotels of the World. * Works considering the overall hotel operations. Strives to create a positive work environment that ultimately reflects in excellent customer service delivered by all employees. * Uses work tools professionally, complying with established regulations. Maintains their uniform and working areas in perfect condition, even if these areas are not accessible to external guests. * When moving around the hotel, notes any defects and reports them to the appropriate personnel in the proper manner. Also reports unclean areas and assists with cleaning whenever possible. DEPARTMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES * Communicates to their direct supervisor, in the appropriate way, any improvement opportunities affecting the hotel, their department, or its mission. * Complies with departmental standards and procedures, as well as those applicable to all hotel employees. * Meets deadlines for assigned tasks while maintaining a high level of performance and adhering to the quality standards of a 5-star luxury hotel such as Marbella Club. * Supports and contributes by participating in daily and monthly work plans, ensuring compliance with established objectives. * Properly uses kitchen supplies and utensils, ensuring they are in perfect condition and reporting any anomalies detected. **JOB-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES** * Supervise and organize daily pastry operations * Develop annual CAPEX/OPEX planning for department operations * Manage the pastry team, maintaining necessary staffing levels to ensure production * Monitor schedules, ensuring shifts are covered and the scheduling system is up to date * Communicate with other departments to ensure smooth pastry operations and overall hotel functionality * Be able to read and interpret service orders and special events * Control inventory, both materials and goods * Optimize costs and improve operational efficiency * Keep the work area and workshop always organized and clean * Ensure compliance with hygiene and sanitation regulations * Ensure orders are properly managed within the hotel's purchasing system * Guarantee that all items produced meet the highest quality standards and consistency * Help create new recipes and/or preparations * Ensure the team has everything needed to perform their work correctly * Organize team tasks and workflow * Communicate any improvements and/or issues to the Executive Chef, whether potential or already occurred * Ensure sustainability practices are followed and train the team if necessary * Work in accordance with LQA, Forbes, and Marbella Club standards Personal Characteristics * Must be a leader and trainer * Polite and pleasant demeanor * Team-oriented * Must enjoy achieving goals * Must care about personal appearance * Must have strong communication skills * Requires a continuous self-improvement mindset * Accountable for their work **Specific Knowledge** * Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar position * Experience in 5-star hotels and/or pastry shops of equivalent level * Pastry education and training **Languages** * High proficiency in Spanish and intermediate English, in case interaction with guests is required Job-specific Requirements: * Adapt schedule to shifts and days off as per agreement * Ability to drive. Class B1 driver's license required * High-risk food handling certificate
