Novel manufacturing processes have opened new perspectives in various engineering sectors, providing resource\-efficient solutions through geometric freedom and digitalization. The industrial sectors are currently making efforts to establish regulations and procedures for the sustainable use of novel metallic materials in various applications. To incorporate these novel materials into the industrial sectors, they must exhibit suitable mechanical and application\-related properties which are harmonized with those of the traditional metals already used in the industry. This project aims to extensively characterize novel materials, with a specific focus on their fracture performance. **Requirements** Candidates should have background in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Science or related disciplines with excellent academic credentials and a solid commitment to developing an academic career in an international and multidisciplinary environment. **Conditions** Starting date: open until filled.
