Folding Machine Operator

Description

The Folding Machine Operator position requires expert and safe operation of conventional folding machinery. The selected candidate will be responsible for performing sheet metal forming operations, ensuring that produced parts meet technical specifications and established quality standards. This role involves reading and interpreting technical drawings, preparing the machine for each job—including tool selection and adjustment—and continuously monitoring production parameters. Precision and attention to detail are essential to minimize material waste and ensure process efficiency. In addition, the operator must perform basic first-level maintenance on the folding machine, such as lubrication and cleaning, to ensure proper operation and extend its service life. The work environment is dynamic and forms part of a broader industrial production process. Collaboration with other departments—such as quality or logistics—is essential for optimal material flow and resolution of production-related incidents. Compliance with safety and environmental protection regulations is an absolute priority in all tasks performed. The professional is expected to actively contribute to a safe and productive work environment. The offered salary fully complies with the current collective labor agreement for the metal sector in the province. The initial employment contract is temporary, with a real possibility of permanent integration into the company’s workforce following a satisfactory evaluation period. Working hours will be carried out at the designated workplace in Avilés, according to the company’s established schedule. Necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided for the safe performance of duties. A minimum of two years’ demonstrable experience operating conventional folding machines is required. Experience operating forklifts, aerial work platforms, and other industrial tools is valuable though not mandatory. Formal training in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and certified training for working at heights will be positively considered. Practical knowledge of basic electricity applied to industrial machinery—for identifying simple faults—is required.
