We are at a pivotal moment: simplifying our architecture, refactoring capabilities, and evolving toward a headless enterprise e-commerce platform that enables better operations across all our sales channels. We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with proven experience integrating enterprise e-commerce platforms to technically lead the evolution of our transactional and integration ecosystem. This role will be critical in reliably connecting the future commerce engine with our domains, corporate systems, and sales channels. We need someone with architectural vision, experience in complex integrations, and sound judgment to design robust, simple, and secure solutions capable of supporting omnichannel operations, high volume, and medium- to long-term evolution needs. **Responsibilities** * Technically lead key backend projects within the e-commerce ecosystem transformation, defining design, sequencing, risks, dependencies, and quality guardrails. * Design integrations between the enterprise commerce platform and the rest of the technology landscape: ERP, PIM, pricing, stock, catalog, promotions, identity, payments, orders, logistics, and other corporate services. * Define APIs, events, contracts, and synchronization mechanisms that support a robust, observable, secure architecture prepared for future evolution. * Serve as the technical reference for resilience, data integrity, transactional consistency, performance, and incident prevention in mission-critical business systems. * Elevate the team’s capabilities through mentoring of N1/N2 engineers, shared technical design, and reference documentation. * Influence cross-team decisions with product, business, platform, and external partners by providing judgment on cost, risk, operations, and maintainability. * We value: humility and shared success (Here to belong); technical excellence and craftsmanship (Here to inspire); experimentation and continuous improvement (Here to disrupt); focus on outcomes and reliable delivery (Here to deliver); learning and mentoring (Here to grow). * We expect: cross-squad and cross-domain impact, high autonomy, ability to thoughtfully challenge assumptions, systemic thinking, and skill in translating technical complexity into understandable decisions. **Key Activities** * Design and evolve headless APIs and clear integration contracts between the enterprise e-commerce platform and other systems. * Design data models, synchronization strategies, and distributed workflows considering consistency, latency, retries, idempotency, and fault tolerance. * Lead complex integrations with ERP/PIM, payments, promotions, search engines, OMS/logistics, and other third parties — from security and reliability perspectives. * Define and optimize service-based architectures, asynchronous processes, queues, and event-driven patterns where they improve scalability and decoupling. * Improve domain performance, caching, and observability by establishing operational metrics, SLOs/SLIs, actionable alerts, and post-deployment discipline. * Drive standards for testing, documentation, and technical quality to reduce regressions and prevent operational reliance on heroic efforts. * Participate in technical evaluations of enterprise platforms and partners, analyzing fit-gap, integration implications, data models, extensibility, and operational risks. * Lead resolution of high-impact critical incidents, promoting high-quality postmortems and concrete corrective/preventive actions. * Document key decisions via ADRs, design reviews, diagrams, and reference materials to support organizational scalability. * You will apply and grow expertise in: headless API design, enterprise platform integration, data and integration domain knowledge, resilience, transactional consistency, queues and asynchronous processing, caching, observability, testing, security, and backend architecture for omnichannel e-commerce. **Requirements** * Proven production experience as a Senior Backend Engineer leading complex projects, critical integrations, and technical decisions with real business impact. * Demonstrable experience integrating enterprise e-commerce platforms such as VTEX, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, SAP Commerce Cloud, or equivalent solutions. * Deep knowledge of API design, system integration, and headless architectures tailored for omnichannel e-commerce environments. * Experience with ERP/PIM, payments, stock, pricing, promotions, orders, search, or other core e-commerce capabilities. * Ability to design robust yet simple systems, with strong judgment around caching, retries, circuit breakers, data integrity, security, and architectural trade-offs. * Experience in observability, automated testing, incident analysis, SLOs/SLIs, and structural improvements to system reliability. * Solid understanding of security applied to integrations and transactional flows: authentication/authorization, OWASP, input sanitization, secrets management, encryption, and data protection. * Ability to work effectively amid ambiguity, manage third-party dependencies, and communicate clearly with technical, business, and external partner stakeholders. * Experience mentoring other engineers and raising standards through feedback, documentation, pairing, and rigorous reviews. * Experience with event-driven architectures, microservices, search engines (Algolia/Elasticsearch), observability tools, Docker, and CI/CD is highly valued. * You use AI tools responsibly to accelerate work — validating outputs, preserving security, and documenting key decisions. **What We Offer** * The opportunity to technically lead an enterprise e-commerce transformation with direct impact across multiple channels and business domains. * A high-level architecture and integration challenge within an international company — with real complexity, technological ambition, and room to make decisions. * The chance to collaborate closely with product, frontend, data, platform, and strategic partners to build a simpler, more robust, and scalable technology foundation. * An environment to influence, raise standards, and leave a clear mark on the evolution of KAVE HOME’s architecture. * A unique workspace — featuring new, open-plan, and sustainable offices. * Fresh fruit available every morning.
