At DXC Spain, we are looking for an Oracle Database Administrator to join our team in Avilés (hybrid). **Minimum Requirements** * Official education in a technical field (Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Higher Vocational Training in Computing or similar). * Minimum of **2–3 years** of experience in **Oracle database administration** in production environments. * Solid knowledge of: + Installation, configuration, and administration of **Oracle Database** (preferably 12c, 19c or higher). + Management of **tablespaces, users, roles, privileges**, and security policies. + **Backup \& Recovery** using RMAN and/or equivalent tools. + Use of **Oracle Enterprise Manager / Cloud Control** or similar tools for monitoring. * Experience working in **Unix/Linux environments**. * Ability to **analyze and resolve database incidents** within tight timeframes (service-oriented). * Sufficient documentation skills to **write basic technical procedures** (operation manuals, checklists, etc.). * Knowledge of: + **Oracle Data Guard**, duplication, and high availability strategies. + **Oracle RAC** and clustered environments (if applicable to your environment). + **Performance tuning** (AWR, ADDM, indexes, execution plans). **Desirable Requirements** * Experience with **monitoring tools**: + Oracle Enterprise Manager, Prometheus, Zabbix, Nagios, Dynatrace, etc. * Experience in: + **Automation of tasks** (shell script, Python, Ansible, etc.). + Managing **patching** (PSU, RU, security patches) and Oracle version upgrades. * Valuable certifications: + 1Z0\-1072\-21 OCI Architect Associate 2021 + 1Z0\-1085\-23 OCI Fundamentals 2023 + 1Z0\-082 Oracle Database Administration I 19c 2023 + 1Z0\-083 Oracle Database Administration II 19c 2023 * **Technical English** for reading documentation and coordination with vendor support. * Experience working with **multidisciplinary teams** (development, systems, security, operations). **Job Responsibilities** * **Administration of Oracle databases** in Unix environments: + Installation, configuration, controlled shutdowns/startups. + Management of users, roles, privileges, and security policies. * **Database platform management**: + Applying **patches** and version updates. + Managing **space, growth, and capacity**. + Configuring **instance parameters** and basic optimization. * **Backup \& Recovery**: + Defining, executing, and monitoring backup and restore policies. + Periodic restoration tests and **contingency plans**. * **Monitoring and performance**: + Using monitoring tools for **proactive issue detection**. + Performance analysis and basic tuning of queries and structures. * **Incident management**: + Diagnosing and resolving **critical incidents**, including **data loss or service outages**. + Supporting other teams (development, support) in investigating database-related issues. * **Documentation and procedures**: + Creating and maintaining **operational technical instructions**, manuals, and checklists. + Documenting changes, configurations, and architectures in corporate knowledge management systems. **What will you find at DXC?** * Professional development. * Leading-edge projects with key market clients. * Excellent working environment. * Flexibility and work-life balance. * Working with cutting-edge technologies in the IT sector. * Access to DXC Learning and official certifications. * Social and responsible commitment. * Stable employment. * Social benefits.
