Assistant Professor / Associate Professor in Economic Law

1 October 2025 XThe University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) is advertising, within the Department of Business Economics, Health and Social Work (DEASS), a position for an **Assistant/Associate Professor in Economic Law** at the **Center of Competence for Tax and Legal Studies (CCTG)**. The starting date is to be agreed upon. Employment level: 20%\-50%. Area The Center of Competence for Tax and Legal Studies offers various services in the field of short and long-term continuing education as well as basic education in business disciplines and serves as a reference point on taxation topics at the cantonal level. The Center also publishes the journal "Novità fiscali", which provides updates on Swiss and international tax law and is published online monthly. Tasks and Responsibilities Teaching * Conducts teaching activities in the field of Law. * Participates in planning by actively defining and managing the educational offerings within the specific disciplinary area. * Contributes to the scientific and pedagogical renewal of the educational programs by continuously updating the curriculum. * Significantly contributes to integrating theory and practice within both basic and continuing education. * Transfers professional expertise and up-to-date knowledge into teaching, ensuring a constant connection between these two dimensions. Management/Administration * Manages technical, disciplinary, and administrative aspects related to teaching. * Promotes collaboration among faculty members, researchers, and scientific staff within the relevant sector. Visibility * Contributes through their activities to the synergistic development between education, research, and service mandates. * Participates in promoting the academic network and contributes to developing interdisciplinary activities. * Maintains and promotes internal and external collaborations and relationships with institutional and private partners. * Represents the Department externally within the relevant field; * Collaborates in drafting technical\-scientific and educational contributions in the field of law. Profile of Competencies, Required Qualifications * Master’s degree in Law obtained from a University of Applied Sciences, University, or Polytechnic, or equivalent qualification. * At least 10 years of proven professional experience in the field of law. * Significant and recognized teaching experience at a university, University of Applied Sciences, or Polytechnic. * Ability to develop connections and synergies between education and research. * Proven ability to structure educational offerings and demonstrated competence in developing innovative teaching content. * Possesses solid experience and enjoys recognized professional standing within the relevant professional community. * Demonstrates ability to build networks with professional associations, organizations, and institutions. * Teaching qualification (or willingness to obtain it within 4 years of appointment). * Knowledge of the Swiss university system. * Strong understanding of the regional context of the Canton Ticino and of Swiss legal institutions. * Excellent interpersonal and relational skills. * Language portfolio: proficiency in Italian, German, and English. * Scientific publications in the relevant field with diversified topics and good reach. Preferred Qualifications * Doctorate (PhD) is considered a preferred qualification. * Swiss certification (or recognized in Switzerland) as a lawyer is considered a preferred qualification. * Experience leading working groups in university teaching. * Experience as thesis supervisor (Bachelor, Master, or PhD) or as a tutor for university students.
