Job Summary: We are seeking a Senior Hardware Development professional for strategic Space and Defence projects, focused on electronic design, technical decision-making, and mentoring—without abandoning hands-on technical work. Key Highlights: 1. You will participate in top-tier strategic Space and Defence projects. 2. A highly technical position with direct impact on design and decision-making. 3. You will join a multidisciplinary team undergoing technological expansion. At **Sener Aerospace and Defence**, the sustained growth of our Space and Defence programmes drives continued expansion of our team. We seek to incorporate a **Senior Hardware Development professional** at our facilities in Tres Cantos (Madrid) or Getxo (Biscay), who wishes to be part of a clear phase of technological and industrial expansion. You will participate in strategic Space and Defence projects, developing high-reliability electronic equipment that forms part of critical systems for institutional missions and top-tier defence programmes. This is a **highly technical position**, designed for professionals who enjoy designing, making technological decisions, and guiding less-experienced engineers—all while remaining actively engaged in hands-on technical work. You will work in a demanding and collaborative technical environment, as part of a multidisciplinary team where technical expertise is combined with knowledge sharing and leadership by example. You will maintain an active role in design while contributing technical judgment to key project decisions. **Your Responsibilities:** You will join a multidisciplinary team (hardware, control, software, and mechanics) developing electronic control units for antenna pointing systems, robotic couplings and anchoring systems, telescope focusing and scanning systems, among others—participating in highly demanding projects from initial phases through final validation. Specifically, your responsibilities will include: * Analysing and decomposing **system and equipment requirements**, actively participating in defining technical solutions compliant with Space and Defence standards. * Performing **detailed electronic design** of equipment, both at schematic level and providing technical support for PCB component placement and routing. * Conducting **analogue and digital simulations**, evaluating design behaviour under various operational scenarios. * Defining and reviewing **hardware validation procedures**, ensuring compliance with functional, environmental, and reliability requirements. * Executing **functional testing of equipment**, and participating in **environmental test campaigns** (thermal, vibration, etc.), collaborating in result analysis. * Preparing and maintaining **associated technical documentation** (design, validation, technical justifications, reports, and project deliverables). * Participating in **technical reviews with clients**, contributing judgment and experience to design decisions. * Acting as the **technical reference within the team**, collaborating with less-experienced profiles and contributing to overall project technical coherence—while maintaining direct involvement in design. **What We Expect From You:** We seek a **senior profile with a solid technical foundation**, eager to further develop hardware design capabilities for complex Space and Defence systems, and who enjoys sharing knowledge and contributing technical judgment to the team. We especially value professionals who wish to combine deep technical expertise with active participation in design decisions and mentoring of less-experienced colleagues. Essential Requirements: * University degree in Electronic Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Telecommunications Engineering. * Advanced English proficiency. * **Minimum 8 years’ experience** in similar electronic hardware development roles. * Demonstrable experience in detailed design of analogue and power circuits, as well as digital circuit design—including communication buses, memory interfaces, and FPGAs. Additionally, the following will be valued: knowledge of actuators and sensors; motor control design; PCB design… as well as tools such as (Matlab / Simulink), Altium, Pspice/LTspice, VHDL, C, C\+\+, Matlab/Simulink, Python, and Labview. Also essential is familiarity with Defence and Space analysis methodologies (Parts Stress Analysis (PSA), Worst Case Analysis (WCA), Reliability, FMECA, Fault Tree Analysis, Radiation effects…). **What We Offer You:** These are some of the benefits you will enjoy at Sener: * Join a multidisciplinary and highly qualified team working on internationally recognised, technologically innovative projects. * Continue your professional development with us and access a broad training portfolio (technical, soft skills, language training, etc.). * Take care of yourself through our physical and emotional wellbeing programme: sports, workshops, medical services, physiotherapy, etc. * Optimise your salary via our flexible remuneration plan (meal vouchers, private health insurance, childcare vouchers…) and benefit from our life and accident insurance. * Enjoy greater work flexibility! We offer flexible working hours, teleworking policies, and coworking spaces. * Access a discounts portal for you and a dedicated onboarding programme for our international employees. * We promote equal opportunities, diversity, and inclusion for all individuals and are certified as a Family-Responsible Entity (efr). Moreover, through the Sener Foundation, we support activities that foster knowledge acquisition and contribute to socially responsible engineering development. We offer you the opportunity to join a rapidly expanding environment, with access to strategic projects and long-term career prospects. At **Sener**, professional advancement for technical profiles does not mean leaving engineering behind: we foster career paths where deep expertise and technical experience remain central to professional development.
