Thermal and HVAC Engineer

At Airmagic, we are seeking a Thermal and HVAC Engineer to expand our R\+D\+i department. The selected candidate will serve as the technical reference for thermal calculations, psychrometrics, and sizing of industrial adiabatic air conditioning systems. They will work closely with the Product Design Engineer, complementing mechanical equipment development with thermal calculation, analysis, and performance validation. **MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES** * Perform thermal, psychrometric, and refrigeration calculations applied to industrial adiabatic air conditioning systems. * Size equipment and installations by calculating thermal loads, air flow rates, refrigeration capacity, pressure losses, and water consumption. * Analyze equipment performance under various climatic conditions and develop calculation and selection tools. * Participate in the design, testing, and validation of prototypes and new products. * Analyze results from real-world tests and installations and propose technical improvements. * Prepare reports, calculation memoranda, and technical documentation. * Develop and interpret P\&ID diagrams. * Provide technical support to the Product Design, Sales, Production, and Installation departments. **REQUIREMENTS** * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Air Conditioning, Industrial Engineering with specialization in fluid dynamics and thermodynamics, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or equivalent qualification. * Solid knowledge of thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics. * Experience with HVAC systems. **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS** * Two to five years’ experience in thermal engineering, industrial air conditioning, ventilation, evaporative cooling, or energy efficiency. * Experience with HVAC equipment manufacturers, air handling units (AHUs), fans, air coolers, heat recovery units, cooling towers, or evaporative systems. * Experience in technical offices or installation engineering firms. * Familiarity with Spanish Technical Building Code (CTE), Regulation on Thermal Installations in Buildings (RITE), and ASHRAE technical criteria. * Proficiency in MATLAB, EES, Python, or other modeling tools. * Knowledge of CFD using ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM, SolidWorks Flow Simulation, or similar tools. * Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other technical design software. * Technical English proficiency. * Experience in testing, prototyping, and product validation. **What we offer:** * Opportunity to participate from the outset in the development of a new product. * Indefinite-term contract and professional development within a growing company. * Knowledge of air conditioning, ventilation, and thermal system calculations. * Ability to interpret drawings and technical documentation. * Advanced Excel skills for developing calculation models and tools. * Ability to document calculations, assumptions, results, and technical criteria. * Strong analytical capability and problem-solving orientation. * Willingness to work on-site in Mérida.
