At **Giesecke\+Devrient** (G\+D) Iberia, we are seeking a **Qualification Lab & Failure Analysis Coordinator** to join our Quality department at our El Prat de Llobregat facility. You will be the key person responsible for ensuring the laboratory operates correctly, managing daily coordination of the technical team, test planning, and reliability of results used for product qualification and failure analysis. Your role will be essential in guaranteeing that tests, methodologies, and conclusions comply with internal, regulatory, and customer standards, supporting both Quality and R\+D, Production, and other key business areas.
**Key Responsibilities**

### **Laboratory Coordination and Operations**
* Ensure proper operational and documentation management of the laboratory.
* Plan and prioritize activities, assigning tasks to the technical team.
* Serve as the primary contact point for internal customers (Quality, R\+D, Production, Product Management, etc.).
* Guarantee proper execution of tests defined in qualification plans.
* Review, validate, and present results; draft reports; and provide technical support in data interpretation.
* Maintain the calibration plan up to date and ensure its compliance.
### **New Product Qualification**
* Verify compliance with applicable specifications and standards for new developments.
* Execute or coordinate tests included in qualification plans.
* Analyze results and formulate clear technical conclusions.
* Issue qualification reports for transition to industrialization.
### **Failure Analysis**
* Conduct failure analysis on products from production, pre\-series, or internal returns.
* Identify root causes based on product knowledge and its limitations.
* Document findings and propose recommendations or actions where appropriate.
### **Regulatory Compliance and Audits**
* Know and apply standards related to bank card manufacturing (ISO 10373, ISO 7810/7811/7816, EMVCo).
* Prepare documentation and participate in internal, customer, or certification audits.
* Ensure regulatory compliance across all laboratory activities.
### **Continuous Improvement and Metrics**
* Define, manage, and report key laboratory KPIs (response times, deadline adherence, calibrations, etc.).
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on data and best practices.
### **Technical Autonomy**
* Decide on test repetitions, suspensions, or invalidation upon detection of anomalies.
* Ensure traceability, consistency, and reliability of results.
**Candidate Profile**

### **Education**
* Engineering degree or Higher Technician in Laboratory Sciences.
### **Experience**
* Minimum 3 years in testing laboratories, metrology, failure analysis, or similar environments.
* Experience in electronics, plastics, or bank card industries: **highly desirable**.
### **Technical Knowledge**
* Preferred knowledge of the following standards:
+ ISO 10373
+ ISO 7810 / 7811 / 7816
+ EMVCo
* Ability to interpret technical regulations and test plans.
* Operational English (spoken and written), especially for reporting and communication with other subsidiaries.
### **Personal Competencies**
* Excellent communication skills with internal customers.
* Analytical thinking and ability to solve complex problems.
* Efficient organization and prioritization in dynamic environments.
* Cross-functional leadership (without formal hierarchical authority).
