Lead technical decisions and mentor other engineers Sr Backend Engineer\-API \& Payments (AI\-Native) Job Description We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer specialized in APIs and payments to join a high-level banking environment within a global BaaS platform. This role will focus on the design, development, and maintenance of microservices and APIs within a cloud\-native ecosystem, with emphasis on payment, collections, and cash management domains. Key Responsibilities Design and maintain domain APIs (Payments/Collections). Document REST APIs using OpenAPI 3\.1 and AsyncAPI. **Implement secure authentication and authorization:** OAuth 2\.1, OpenID Connect (OIDC), mTLS, JWT **Develop microservices with:** Java 17\+ (Spring Boot 3\) primary, Python 3\.11\+ (FastAPI) secondary Implement event\-driven workflows with Apache Kafka. Integrate relational databases, caches, and vector DBs. Build CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and ArgoCD. Manage infrastructure as code with Terraform. Implement observability with Datadog, Dynatrace, Prometheus, and ELK. **or Ensure regulatory compliance:** PSD2, GDPR, DORA Lead technical decisions and mentor other engineers. Mandatory Requirements 7\+ years of backend and API development experience. Experience in payments or cash management. **Proficiency in:** Java (Spring Boot), Python (FastAPI) **Experience with:** Kafka, PostgreSQL, Redis **Strong security knowledge:** OAuth 2\.1, OIDC, mTLS **Experience with:** Kubernetes, Terraform, GitOps (ArgoCD) **Knowledge of financial regulations:** PSD2, GDPR, DORA Advanced English (mandatory). Desirable Requirements **Experience with:** Vector databases, RAG, LangChain Experience in LLMOps and AI governance. Familiarity with Confluent Platform.
