




Position Summary: We are seeking a proactive and solution-oriented technical engineer for an accredited testing laboratory, responsible for certification and validation services for electrical and electronic products. Compliance with applicable regulations for electronic equipment is one of the top priorities in the laboratory and certification services provided by TECNALIA’s Digital Lab Services area, specifically within its Electronic Equipment Laboratory. We seek a technically skilled engineer wishing to develop their career in the field of an accredited testing laboratory, performing tests on electricity meters and other electronic products. *If you are proactive, responsible, and solution-oriented, adaptable to new projects, and enjoy teamwork.* *If you are interested in applied research and in transferring the technology you develop directly to industry… keep reading…!* ***Your responsibilities:*** * You will join the Digital Area of the Lab Services Unit, Electronic Equipment Platform. * You will integrate into an eight-person team comprising engineers and laboratory technicians, with your primary mission being **certification and validation services for low-voltage electrical and electronic products**. This includes, primarily, regulatory testing and specific technical specifications related to MID and EMC directive requirements applicable to the aforementioned products. * After an initial adaptation period, you will become **responsible for conducting electrical, metrological, and EMC testing**, contributing process improvements, providing customer support in the laboratory, executing tests, and preparing technical documentation, records, and test reports. * You may participate as a technician in projects involving activities related to the described testing. * You will help **plan and execute metrological and EMC testing of equipment under the MID and EMC directives.** * You will contribute to ensuring compliance with the **laboratory’s accreditation requirements**, maintaining up-to-date procedures, technical documentation, etc. * You will participate in **internal and external audits** related to laboratory activities and accreditations. * You will contribute to training and advising other laboratory technicians. * You will assume technical responsibility for the laboratory’s **accreditations**. * You will **interpret standards and specifications**, and carry out the development of test procedures and methodologies to establish the necessary test environment for performing required laboratory tests. ***What we offer:*** * A competitive salary aligned with your experience and the value you bring, according to the position requirements. * Opportunities for professional growth in key industrial electrification transformation projects, enabling you to advance your career and acquire high-impact experience. * The opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team recognized across Europe, where teamwork, innovation, and excellence are priorities. * Work-life balance measures to help you balance responsibilities while maintaining well-being and productivity. * Permanent employment contract * Qualifications: **Bachelor’s degree** or **Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering**, specializing in **electrical** or **electronic engineering**, or equivalent. * Languages: **Advanced level of English**, both written and spoken. * Experience and knowledge in **compliance with and maintenance of requirements for accredited laboratories according to ISO/IEC 17025**, including processes and good practices, quality assurance activities, laboratory equipment control, internal and external audits, regulatory studies, traceability, and test documentation, etc. * In-depth technical knowledge of the **European MID Directive and applicable regulations for electricity meters** (EN IEC 62052\-11, \-21; EN IEC 62053\-21, \-23, etc.). * Experience in performing **metrological testing on electricity meters**, in accordance with MID Directive requirements. * Technical knowledge of the **European Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Directive and applicable EMC regulations** (CISPR 11, 14, 16, 32; EN 61000\-3\-X; EN 61000\-4\-X, etc.). * Technical knowledge of **PRIME and BPL communication technologies** (EN 50065\-1; \-7; \-2\-3, etc.). * Experience in performing **EMC testing on electronic equipment and electricity meters**. * Experience in performing **electrical safety testing according to the European Low Voltage Directive and Electrical Safety Standards**, such as EN 60255\-27 or others. * Experience in **setting up electrical/electronic tests**, including use of diverse equipment such as programmable power supplies, signal amplifiers, data loggers, etc. * Experience using **laboratory instrumentation**, including power supplies, EMI receivers, signal generators, EMC equipment, etc. * Use of **specific software** for conducting tests and/or controlling test equipment. * Empathy and assertiveness in interactions and communications with customers, regulatory bodies, and the internal team. * Organizational skills to meet laboratory deadlines while maintaining proper coordination with other laboratory personnel. ***We will value:*** * Knowledge of the **European Low Voltage Directive and Electrical Safety Regulations**, and safety standards such as EN 60255\-27, EN 62368\-1, EN 61010, etc. * **Experience working in laboratories or companies in the sector**, particularly manufacturers of electrical or electronic equipment subject to regulatory requirements under the MID, EMC, etc. directives. * **Experience working in accredited laboratories**, and knowledge of their requirements and needs for maintaining and expanding test accreditations. * Use and handling of **electrical measurement equipment**, such as oscilloscopes, PSUs, MTE power supplies, OMICRON, Zera, DC loads, etc., and capability to operate various types of electronic equipment with corresponding setups. * Organizational and management capabilities. *We positively consider applications from individuals holding a disability certificate equal to or greater than 33%, in compliance with current legislation, the General Law on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Social Inclusion (LGD).*
